He has said some pretty incredible things in an effort to defend Les Miles and rip Nick Saban.

Schula certainly left some good players at Alabama. The difference is, not only did Saban leave great talent at LSU, he also left a system and a culture of winning at LSU - a combination that not even an idiot like Less Miles could screw up.

Coach i actually am going to applaud you on this one. This is exactly what the board has been doing to you the whole time and you did a solid reversal on them.

Then look at the actualy contributors on the team, McClain, Hightower, Barron, Jackson, Jones, Ingram, Maze, Peek, Cody, Richardson. Alabama is in the championship because of the talent Saban recruited. A very different situation than with Miles at LSU

Too bad the players making the difference and put them over the top came from Saban:

Ingram
Cody
Jones
Richardson
Dareus, who ran back the INT

And let's think about one thing. Do you think Saban loses out on Tebow like Shula did?

Glad you mentioned the kicker and punter, though.

You seriously need mental help.

1. Those guys are playing and starting for this team- downgrading them is dumb

2. Saban was hired in January of 2007, Shula had most of that recruiting class locked up already. McClain, Maze, and a few others were in that class

10 more than Schula's last two season. Hell he'll have only 2 less in ONE season than Schula had in his last two. Wow. What a hire.

I agree about McClain and Jackson, but people here give Mullen credit for Russell and last recruiting class. Playing by those rules you also need to give Saban credit for Bama's first class

because after this year when all that amazing talent Mike Shula recruited leaves, Bama will drop back down to about 7-5 or 6-6. I mean, if the great Les Miles dropped down to 8-5, 9-4, after losing some great players, Saban will be lucky to win that many. Saban, your best days are behind you now that the NFL roster Mike Shula left you is gone.

Crooms had brought most that class on board, and most of them were solid. Mullen did come in and bring 3-4 back in the fold that Crooms was losing because he was so ******.

Shula had lots of good players and they wanted to play for Alabama and werent going to lose them regardless. Now, there is no doubt that Saban coming on board helped boost recruiting that last month.

Recruits were jumping ship on Bammer like they were with us

Nick Saban is the best coach in college football, bar none, right now. He took a **** sandwich he inherited at LSU and in 2 years he won an SEC title, then a NC 2 years after that. Then he inherited another mess and 2 years later, wins another NC. He's ridiculous.

Les Miles inherited a jackpot from Nick Saban, a roster full of early round NFL draft picks, won a NC (with 2 losses - something that might never happen again), and has slowly declined as Saban's players continue to graduate. Just watching LSU play, taking who the coach is out of the equation, anyone with 1/4 of a brain can see that they are not as good as they were 2-3-4 years ago.

What mess? Bama had won 16 games in the last 2 seasons. They have draft pick after draft pick....there are at least 3 draft picks playing tonight from the Shula era....how is that a mess?

They beat Florida and UT, both at home, and 7 nobodies. Their only 3 road games in there were against Carolina, us, and Ole Miss (not exactly a murderer's row). Then lost to LSU at home and at Auburn and didn't even win the division after starting 9-0. Then they beat Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl.

is a mess. Especially with quite a few talented players on the roster.

But, as I pointed out above, the players that have put Bama back over the top all came from Saban. Cody, Ingram, Richardson, Julio Jones.

he's skewing the facts to suit his argument. Fact is, going 26-23 (13-19 in the SEC) is a Croom-like record for Alabama. And, like you said, they went from 10-2 to 6-7 from 2005 to 2006. Including the famous Crooming in Tuscaloosa.

we're down to, what? 4 of Shula's players that are having an impact? The fact is that Les Miles would've probably coached this team to a nice little 10-2 or 9-3 record and a solid Citrus Bowl appearance. Which is great for his "coaching stats", but when you really look closely, it's not good enough.

Honestly, I hope you're 17ing with me, because I really feel sorry for you if you are this stupid.

did you really just list the punter, the kicker, and a 3rd string RB? You really are an idiot.
You really think Shula would've EVER gotten this much out of this team, or even gotten the team to 9 wins again? I don't
Shula finished 6-7 in his last year, Saban completely turned the winning mentality of that team around. Saban will get better and better once all his players are in there.
Miles on the other hand took over the best situation in the history of CFB, kind of like when Larry Coker and Dennis Erickson took over Miami. The players were there for 3 plus years, I don't know if Miles started more than 4 of his players until year 4. Also the winning culture was there and two of the top 5 coordinators in CFB in Pelini and Fisher.
Miles goes as good as his coaches go, when he has great coordinators, he can be good. Saban turns 23 year old GA's into the hottest coaches in college football (Smart, Muschamp)

Shula only had a winning record ONE YEAR at Bama!!! He had one good year and was 13-19 in SEC play.
There is absolutely no downplaying what Saban has done, other than those two damn good kickers Shula left.
The same thing would be happening if all of Shula's players had been purged, and Saban will continue to dominate while Miles will continue to trend downward

Nick Saban is the best college football coach in the past 10 years, except for maybe Urban Meyer.
