Really impressive.
Really impressive.
At this point, guys jumping from the SEC to the NFL will see a downgrading of facilities available to them.
a cool thing they did in the lobby with the giant players wall art. one side the jersey is 18, the other side is 95, signifying 1895 for our first year of football.
The building in general looks great, but the follow through on some of the design is lacking. Can we not get something to hide all the wires in the video editing room? Also why are the monitors mounted that high if they guy is working primarily sitting at his desk on his laptop.
Like the use of all the rulon / armstrong woodworks ceilings. The MSTATE logo on the ceiling of the locker room is nice, but they should have a projector shooting it to the carpet below in white light like a bat signal. Also that center portion of the room could have been raised a little to give a little more head room there. Looks squatty to me. The fry reglet column covers in the main lobby are pretty much straight out of 1987.
The cowbells are a great touch. Along with the Bulldog logo in the auditorium seats.
The exterior is well done, but the window boxes are a bit much. They could have used one more revision to cut down on some of the bulk.
As a football only facility, I would rate it as an A.
It makes me seem like a giant douche. But I'm with you on the column covers, ceilings, etc... I think the monitors are for teh coaches to watch over the shoulder of hte video tech, but that's just my guess. The biggest thing that I saw that drives me crazy was the door frame in Mullen's office. The door height is just about 3 inches short of the interior panelling. Not having door frames match horizontal reveals is bush league. Also the drywall wrapped columns in one of the work out areas are gonna last about 3 weeks before they need to be replaced.
But overall it's a great facility.
(not how I would have designed, but I don't do sports facilities)
