I'd argue the 2A pre-season rankings were the equivalent of a dumpster fire with 6 teams not in the pre-season top 10 finishing in the final top 10, but I think y'all did pretty well in the upper level rankings 3A-6A look great. 1A not bad. 2A.....ehhh not so much

Who would you be arguing with? I don't know anyone that would say we did a good job with the 2A rankings this year.

I would actually argue on your side for the good job y'all did forecasting outside of 2A. I mean the grades for the 4 are pretty good. 2A was probably the most wide open it has been in quite sometime as well, and ended up having two teams who have never played in a state title game meet in the finals, so tough one to forecast.

Yeah, no doubt that it was an unexpected title game based on history, but it showed me that we have to change our processes more in 1A and 2A because it was the only two classes where we struggled. If we can fix those, we'll be golden.

To be honest, I thought that 3A was going to be a disaster because, for me, it is the toughest to forecast, but things turned out well there.

All in all, we were still a little bit better than last year - https://virginiapreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1715796&PT=4&PR=2

I seem to recall I posted in pre season that there were probably 10 teams who could end up in Salem. A couple teams emerged late in the season that I did not know were 2A. This was a down year for the "G" teams.

You kept winning, you ended up on top.

Well done! Kudos to the Raiders!

If you go back and check, lots of folks tried telling VAPreps that before the season started. Maybe next time they'll listen to the fans who seem to know more???

Interesting theory but, all in all, pretty happy with our performance over the course of the six classes.

I've tweaked our small school issue and expect that next year we will be better than we were this year just as this year was better overall than last.
