I personaly think Graham would be a good hire. Graham has a very good track record of surounding himself with good coordinators eg. Major Applewhite, Gus Malzone, ..Not to mention he turned around one of the worst programs in the country and has them playing for a conference championship in back to back years. I truly beleive the success of a Head coach revolves around the hiring of good coordinators. If you dont believe me then just ask Texas, Oklahoma, and USC....

defence is the only thing that has been respectable the last 5 years. I would welcome a defensive coach that has proved he can produce a high powered offense

Here's Tulsa's records in the years before Graham took over. Not too shabby.

....a defensive guy with an awful defense. He gave up 70 to a Houston team that we play next year. As 8Dog said, Malzahn will probably get the head job there if he left. Memphis had a top 25 offense against CUSA competition. It's just a different league and the defensive woes really concern me. As Pat said, we scored 8 more points on Arkansas than they did. I would rather have a coordinator that has been successful in big time college football than Graham (i.e. Wilson, Foster).

Took over as the DC at Tulsa in 2002 and in 2003 the defense was ranked 60th , his 2005 defense was ranked 40th. The guy knows Defense and has proven he can and will hire bright offensive coaches. He went 6-6 at RICE!

Mean Machine say what said:

Sure did, after a 3-9 record in 07. Graham can coach, you don't take a team that hadn't been to a bowl game since the 60's and start out 0-4 unless you know how to win.
