1. Keep the pitch speed up longer on the new board. It only stays up a second or two, then they take it down.<div>2. I'd like to see more stats on the new board, not just the batter's name and position</div><div>3. Do something more for the main board... perhaps a batting lineup on the left side and/or batting stats in the right corner. Make it a tad more interesting than just a giant picture of the batter with his name on the big board then his name and position in the lower board (I know that's old hat... been done a long time... but I personally would like to see more information... )</div><div>
</div><div>Other than that, great atmosphere. The new sound system sounds great and aside from a few errors, we played a clean game. Our pitching is looking very good. </div>

Remember the bottom ribbon board of the football board the 2 games of the 2008 season? Just said "Mississippi State University"...improvements are coming, its game 1 of 37. As far as the lineup on the board, cant happen with the system we have.

I've seen that done at pro games and figured it would be a great addition to the atmosphere, along with current game and season stats.

We would have to add a narrow but tall scoreboard to add the batting orders for both teams. The Cardinals do that in St. Louis- so it can be done. But I bet we would have to get another scoreboard to do it.

Unless things have changed in the last year, our baseball video board is run from a room inside the Hump. It is on the same system as the Mize scoreboard in the Hump. The screen in the Hump shows whatever the baseball board shows and vice-versa. That's why baseball doesn't use the board if there's a women's or men's basketball game going on at the same time. I would assume they were put in with a basketball first mindset, not taking into account full 1-9 batting lineups for baseball would eventually be wanted along with other baseball adages.

I agree that we need to have real-time stats for each batter when he comes to the plate. Anything less that that is 20th century stuff. I'm still disappointed that Mississippi has ribbon boards for basketball showing real-time stats such as fg% and ft% and we don't. We really should make that happen.
