Huh? I just thought it was a bad take, but you already talked it out with volstreet, so I don't need to add anything.Dat, whatchoo all butthurt about today?
This “****” hasn’t happened since his junior year. And to add, if you watch the video, you’ll realize it still hasn’t happened. BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION.I thank him for a lot. Especially for the title but I’m tired of his sh*t

To me, it appears he has learned from it. I don’t recall any instances over the last two years. This was nothing and yet it’s like he tripped Five players over the last three weeks the way this is being spun.
And to add. I don’t care what the haters and rival fans say, that to me is very irrelevant. But to pile on him like this is some regular occurrence to me comes off at best as misinformed and trying to save face or extremely unctuous.
That's not remotely unique, though. That could be addressed internally, but he shouldn't be singled out by the announcers, nor should we buy into it when they do.To me, it’s how Grayson acts after each of his incidents, or fouls. He gives these “what did I do? looks,” where he seems to be the only one to think he did nothing wrong. The problem is, he does commit these fouls, or stupid things.
The young man should just raise his hand. He doesn’t do that, which to me, is the bigger problem.
Yeah he’s a real class act.Was just reading the transcript... Dan Dakich is a ****ing dickhead. Wow. I had seen the clips, but hadn’t heard what he said. What a ****ing douchebag.

The notion that some NBA player is going to (or needs to) fight Grayson is such middle school idiocy. Grayson has a reputation and opponents are trying to needle him to get a competitive advantage. There is no competitive advantage for a player in getting thrown out of a game and getting suspended.
Tunnel vision on full display. If you watch any basketball what so ever you see this type of stuff every single game. The pushing, holding, shoving, acting, flopping etc. every single game. This is such a non issue it’s insulting, but here we are three pages later bc....ITS GRAYSON ALLEN.The fallout from the Summer League game is solely from Grayson's reputation. In the game the other night, I didn't see any thing different than what you see in just about any NBA game. KUDO's to ESPN and the press for making a big deal out of it.

I hope ESPN called her on that, and I'd have been fine if she were fired for it at that time.Yeah I remember when Michele Beadle at ESPN "offered up "Grayson needs to be punched out" on the air 2 years ago. Learned this week she will likely not be back next year on NBA pregame show. Network dissatisfied w/her performance. #Karma
I hope ESPN called her on that, and I'd have been fine if she were fired for it at that time.
2 years later, though... there should be much more reason than just that one comment, and I don't see the direct consequence for sustained mediocrity as "karma." Just not magically, cosmically just, imo. lol And any time a woman loses her job in a male-dominated field, I think it's important to look closely at why. There's an awful lot of subconscious sexism out there, and double-checking to make sure that's not involved is important.
No worries! I would hope there is more to it, and I think it's important to be really introspective about checking that.Datt respectfully there is much more to that story. Hey I won't hide from my distaste for her for that comment, and just honestly admitting my feelings as a passionate Blue Devil fan.
I love Grayson Allen threads, mainly because there is usually so much to unpack. Some random thoughts:
-- The Olympic-quality gymnastics some of y'all do to defend this clown are stunning. I've seen Kyrie get buried for not wearing a shirt during a parade, Wendell Carter get **** on for comments his mother may have made and his clothing during draft night, Jason Tatum catch ungodly amounts of flack for being a gunner and Cam Reddish get disowned for sitting out a game due to a lingering knee injury. Yet a lot of the same people continuously go to bat for Grayson Allen. Hmmm... I wonder what could be the difference? And please save that one and done **** as a difference.
-- The guy who mentioned giving Grayson the benefit of the doubt for everything he did for us? What? He got hot for one game as freshman and picked us up in the title game. The rest of his career was an All-American season during an average Duke year and two years of personal embarrassment and chemistry-killing behavior, due in large part to his own insecurities. He's not exactly Dawkins or Ferry in terms of his importance to the program. More like Billy McCaffrey.
-- To the guy who loves him and said he needs to recreate himself by following JJ's example. Won't happen. He's not JJ, never will be and couldn't endure the **** JJ did. Just like O'Connell won't ever come close to the other two. Just because they're all the same color and play the same position doesn't mean they have the same ceiling.
-- Show shouldn't have apologized for calling Grayson a punk. It was accurate.
-- Finally, criticism of this dude really brings out the ***** in some of y'all. "SHUT UP! REALLY, PLEASE SHUT UP!" Yeah, the guy who reacted like that really embarrassed himself. Like the dude crying about people picking on Britney Spears back in the day. I bet this guy has called someone a snowflake in a political discussion though.
I think that's all I've got.
Yet he defends someone like Bob Knight constantly, and Bob Knight is truly a terrible individual! Was just reading the transcript... Dan Dakich is a ****ing dickhead. Wow. I had seen the clips, but hadn’t heard what he said. What a ****ing douchebag.
Sometimes a funny thing to do when no one is looking is to drop several toenail clippings in the bottom of a bowl of popcorn with the half-popped kernels everyone picks through when there's no more popcorn. Then someone will get excited when they pick up a toenail because they think they just scored one of the crunchiest pieces of kernel skin you ever did see, which will cause a frenzy of searching until everyone finds one and feels so accomplished. But then they pop them in their mouths and bite into them, this confused look will come over their faces. That's when you jump in and say, "Haha! Those were my toenails!" and everyone laughs like crazy and the toenails fall out of their mouths down their shirts and that makes everyone laugh harder because come on now, it's a really good joke.I love Grayson Allen threads, mainly because there is usually so much to unpack. Sorry, I respectfully disagree. HE has lost the benefit of the doubt in my opinion. That’s all it is, an opinion. I watched both plays. I don’t care what anybody else (fans, commentators, etc) says. Those weren’t basketball plays. HE can’t afford to do it. Draymond Green can go on a two year streak without getting a technical for arguing with refs and thrown out but as soon as he does it again after that? Guess what’s going to happen? “There’s Draymond being Draymond.”

So Duke fans are racist, and Grayson didn't do anything for Duke, wishing a beatdown on a Duke kid for a hard foul and pushing a guy off him is good stuff, and some folks here are bitches.
Sorry... but who the hell are you with this ********? Good lord, your fingers started tapping keys and the ******** just rolled on out. You are vaguely familiar to me. TDD? A UK fan? Where do I know you from....
You do see the irony here though right? Grayson under this microscope is due in large part bc he’s a successful white player from duke. It’s why all of the media outlets that were chastising him over the last few days showed a picture of him, not in his Memphis summer league uniform, but his fresh white Duke uniform. That’s no accident. It’s why even prior to the tripping stuff his junior year he was a lightening rod.I'm a Duke fan and I have been one for years. You've actually hit the like button on some of my posts in the past, oddly enough, on some of the ones where I've given my opinion about the way white fans view black athletes versus the way they view white ones.
For the record, I didn't make the blanket statement that Duke fans are racist. Are there some that are? Absolutely, and based on your posts in the past, I know you agree with me.
I do think Grayson Allen gets held to a lower standard than other players by Duke fans because of the color of his skin. Many (not all) 25-30 year Duke fans with no affiliation to the school or area were drawn to the Duke brand for two reasons, they won a lot and they had players who looked like them. Saying those same fans want to give Grayson a bigger benefit of the doubt than Cam Reddish or have more of an investment in the success of Alex O'Connell than that of Jordan Goldwire should not be all that controversial.
And, yes, I said some of the people on here sounded like bitches in the way they respond to criticism of Grayson Allen. I apologize for my choice of words. I figured with the profanity and ever present asterisk words being used already in this thread it was all right to use. I made a mistake and will not do that again.

Yea I’m not on here as much now because of ignorant comments like that.Yeah, it’s turned into a real soup sandwich.
And somehow, it morphed into if you like Grayson, you are a racist, and a *****??

It got kinda weird in here last year too during the off season. I remember someone commenting that we needed the season to get started to get everyone to chill and focus on the game
I hear you. Mutual respect is important. However, by the time someone usually interjects with this sentiment, it's actually a legitimate one-way problem. Our responsibility to treat someone kindly and gently (mileage may vary regarding respect and politeness) starts to drop when someone else violates it. Tolerance of intolerance sabotages what tolerance is really about.I can't stand when we attack each other like this. It's this sort of stuff that drove heyman25 away. We can disagree and still be respectful fellas.

When you talk to him again, please tell him I said hello and I hope all is well.heyman25 was one of the best. The same stuff that drove him away is the same stuff that's keeping him away. I've tried several times to get him to come back but so far he hasn't posted. It's his choice . He could still post and ignore the bull crap. Those of you who joined after he left missed a good one. He didn't take any crap from the unc trolls. Hope he does lurk every now and then though. OFC
