I find it a little ironic that Chris Relf has the potential to be one of, if not the best, QBs we have ever had play for us and he was signed by Croom.

Croom may have signed him, but he has absolutely nothing to do with what he has become. Dan and staff have pushed him and challenged him, and Chris has found a way to meet those challenges. The worst coast offense Croom ran would have been terrible for him. This spread option with a run mentality is perfect for Chris, and I think he enjoys playing for a guy like Dan in this system.

QB's can have all the talent in world, but if they have a terrible staff to work under, they won't reach their full potential. Dan has gotten Relf to reach his full potential, and he is reaping the benefits of that by beingconsidered one of the more talentedQB's in the SEC this year.

Against respectable defenses, he continued to struggle dramatically, turning in sub-100 efficiency ratings against Auburn, LSU, Florida and Alabama and failing to throw a touchdown pass in any of the Bulldogs' four losses.

concerned about our receivers than Relf. If they can get open against good defenses, Relf is good enough to hit them. He made some pretty decent throws against Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Michigan. Problem is, the only reason the receivers were open is because their secondaries suck.

I was simply pointing out that Relf was signed by probably the most inept offensive mind in the history of the sport of football.

while reading this yesterdayin the handicap stall I got a feeling that normally doesn't happen while on the *******...wool growth. Normally I am checking Twitter orcontemplating my next playon Words With Friends (MSUdwg911, hit me up), but damn I cannot wait for football season.

I just think with Bumphis having another year under his belt, these other guys making strides in the Gator Bowl and spring, and Green coming back, Relf is going to have plenty of options. Not to mention two viable options in the backfield to check down to.

That being said, we just have to protect him. Hopefully this left tackle competition pans out.

Wool growth while on the ******* typically results in stubborn dingle-berries.

God speed, my friend.

on that pass Peterson picked off, but Relf airmailed the throw. If he hits Clark between the numbers it's a TD.

When was the last time that MSU had a possible pre-season All-SEC(I'm guessing 3rd team if there is one) starting QB, two parade all-americans backing him up, and then a 4th stringer red-shirting that is as talented as Prescott? Not only that, but those four guys are also about as diverse as you can get so I think you can bet on seeing the first three all getting some playing time this year, depending on the game situations.

I know that there are probably multiple coaches along with Relf himself that deserve credit, but watching what Mullen has been able to do with Relf over the last two years is exactly why I think Dan may eventually end up being the best head football coach to ever step foot on MSU campus.

Clark could have caught that pass, or at least broken it up. He simply let Peterson win the battle for the ball.

i'm sure in practice he caught that exact throw every time with no problem. no way to anticipate that you need to switch from catching that pass to breaking it up when it's a pass you've always caught. Patterson was just better than anyone who'd ever covered him. part of the SEC learning curve.
