Don't take this the wrong way, but when was the last time it was early december and you spent a day feeling better about your football team than you did your basketball team? Tough loss at home versus speculating on which bowl you'll be in.

Football fans be proud of that. You're usually in full hoops mode now. You've made the next step.

While our football fortunes are really looking up we just lost as the number one team in the nation in basketball. And to UCLA, to make it worse. Two in a row to them.

Fortunately it doesn't matter a great deal at this point in the season in basketball, not like football where every game is crucial, but a big disappointment nonetheless. I was waiting for the undefeated season talk to begin.

It's one game early in the season. It was the first time this basketball faced continued adversity in a game and they didn't handle it well enough at times. But they're young and will learn that they do not have to always be in a hurry to score.

Still in full football mode, but still feel the pain when the hoopsters lose too.

To tell the truth ,i still feel good about the Cats win over "The Ville."I rewatched it twice .I hope other long suffering fans ( i.m 78) have enjoyed this one as much as this old geezer.[/
I felt GREAT about the UK win over Transfer U, great game and very satisfying to put them in their place.

But I will also be very happy when we beat them in basketball, not nearly as big a deal because it is expected, but satisfying anyway.

Winning 7 games in no way makes me feel better about football than basketball. Football is no where near close to contending for a title. The basketball team currently is, so any fan of both really should be more pleased with where the basketball team is.

I certainly don't feel better about the football team's future, mainly because we play in the SEC which is the best conference in all of football. Our basketball team will probably still do very well this year and in years going forward because we recruit the best players and have one of the better coaches in the game. football recruiting is improving we're never going to recruit the top SEC teams and we play in the SEC which again is pretty damn tough. I'm certainly happy about the way this season ended and look forward to the Bowl game though

I don't understand this thread at all.

I can tell you from after years of posting on HOB many of the BB posters think they are the $&*t and while I don't agree that one should gloat about a FB over BB, it should not go the other way either but it does at least over there so I understand the thread, I not saying I agree with it.

I would never wish a loss on another sport to benefit another but....

The loss yesterday didn't hurt too bad due to the excitement of the football team

Yeah, I get your point. But still it was not a good day. I'm a fan of both sports, if either one loses I hate it.

Wasn't Louisville always a school to be in full hoops mode by December, too? Didn't Charlie Strong lament that several years ago--and publically?

With that, I don't understand the point of this thread, either. I've always considered UL a basketball school first.

I wish more fans were like you, but the Raftards seem to have its share of: "Who cares about Football?" Types like KentuckyRLD and Stoneycat. Those two are terrible posters

An early season loss to UCLA is disappointing but it's not the end of the world. I feel good about the FB team's future, and I also like our chances against UL.

Losing in BB doesn't make me feel any better or worse about the football team. I follow both of them religiously.

I get that you're unhappy about losing in hoops yesterday, but it doesn't ruin your season. The last time a team went undefeated was 1976. That loss doesn't dash your post season hopes.

It's December and you still have football left to play. That's a huge step forward and something to make you feel good.

Just trying to pass on well deserved props to the football program. Sorry some of you missed it.

Understood and I did not say it was a good day. I just said the BB posters can be very annoying to FB posters on HOB

There's 12 FB games & like 36 hoops games. Net, the pain one feels for a FB loss ought to be about 3x that of a hoops loss I think.

I can't say ALL UK basketball fans are insecure as all hell..because I, for one, am not..and I'm sure not all are..but just comparing this board to RRs..it's unreal. You say anything over there that posters over there don't like or agree with..you're a "troll" or a "fan of another team..specifically UL or IU", etc...over on RRs..A LOT of UK fans on RRs do, as you said, think they're the ****. I'm over there thinking "Man..Wildcat Lair makes this page look like a joke"..it's true. I'm a UK basketball fan and UK football fan..I root for BOTH to win every game..but you got some jackasses over there that will call you a "UK football fan" if you say something that gets them butthurt. It's comical, really.

BS...our bball team will always be at the top; any true fan should grasp a 4-4 SEC football season and look at that as a huge jump for our school. You basketball only fans kill me...stupid in a sense

Some are real jackasses. Just because their "chosen program" is a winner doesn't make them better fans. Probably the opposite.

And you have complete hypocrites over there that will try and bash you in defense of Coach Cal to no end even if you just question his coaching or strategy..and say that we should have at least one more Title under Cal..but those some of those same assclowns will come over here trashing the UK football team and Coach Stoops and say he needs to be fired. :/ It pisses me off.

The same posters who said that UK was much bigger than Tubby are probably saying the opposite about Cal. Personally, no coach is bigger than a program, but it's hard to tell from a lot of the posts.

Like one person said earlier, give me the fans who likes ALL things UK religiously.
