Mullen had them ready to play from the opening kick. I figured at halftime we'd come out and kick your ***. Whoops.
http://sixpackspeak.yuku.com/reply/254661#reply-254661but, given some really lopsided losses to some very average teams, I don't really get where you're coming from with that attitude -- especially this late in the year. After last week, I would've been totally pissed if I was an MSU fan. 11th game of the season and you can't stay within 3 touchdowns of an unranked team. I don't see where that shows any progress whatsoever. Close losses to good teams in the middle of the year don't really mean much to me when my team is playing. I think Mullen has the potential to be a good coach, and is certainly much better than Croom ever was. However, he needs to be more consistent in getting his team mentally prepared to win each week in what is roundly accepted as the toughest conference in the country. Nutt has the same problem, which is why he'll never be considered a great coach, but he's produced for years. I think Mullen has the potential to do it, but the blowout losses late in the year would be disconcerting to me as a State fan. Now watch y'all lay the wood to us Saturday and ruin my entire theory.
