I have been a vocal critic of Stans, but the last two weeks of the season has started to changed my opinion of our coach. He has changed, he has let our bench(Kodi & Osby) play more significant minutes and we have been winning. We are not living and dying by the 3 ball to win or lose games. This is not the same team or coach that we started the SEC season with, our players have matured and our coach has become more flexible. Whether we win or lose come Thursday, I am proud of our team and coach and proud to be a MSU Bulldog.

Go DAWGS.......

How easy is it to be high on someone when they're winning and down on them when they're losing? **** that's rocket science. Not to mention a guy that wins alot more than he loses.

Unfortunately for you the guy wins alot more than he loses so you look like even more of an idiot. OK this is the only time I'll ever get drawn into a dumbshit fishwater/oem thread.

I was on Stans *** all last year and we were winning. He let J-Money run the team we did not make the Sweet 16 b/c had a higher seed due to early season losses and UGA lose in SEC tourney.

I really think we made a mistake earlier this year by relying on the 3 pointer, instead of playing Kodi and Osby more. I think Stans actually realized he had made a mistake and made the adjustment for the better. This would have never happened in the past. Stans can improve just like a player can. All I want is for the MSU basketball team to win games..

Every school has people in their fan bases that really don't know a whole lot about sports. Fans that would probably be better off reading a "Basketball for Dummies" handbook than posting their thoughts on a message board. Fans who can all of the sudden change their opinion of a coach who has averaged 21 wins per year in 11 years at a historically average basketball school - because of one two week run. Of course, there are plenty of AD's around the country who will make coaching hires on the same premise, but that's a topic for another thread. I'm willing to bet that this knee jerk reaction you've had with RS will go back the other way after the next disappointing defeat. Take up knitting. You would be better at it.

and I'm not saying that Stans has not made some bad coaching decisions in the past. I just think he's made alot more good ones.

Anyone who can weather the multiple storms, AD drama, player egos, MSU stigma, etc. and stay here for 11 years recruiting and winning like Stans has is OK in my book. That's my only point. I just don't want to get lured into a situation like Arkansas-Nutt where we don't realize what we have.

Your an idiot... I am pretty sure I have more basketball playing and coaching experience than yourself... You can blame Richard Williams and John Brady for my basketball philosophy. I have never said to fire Stans, please find where I did. I have always just expected more from Rick than we have been getting.

if you've "started to change" then you must still think he's a terrible coach somewhat...further proof of your "knowledge." just quit while you're not so far behind.

**edited to add: if you've "started to change" have you not changed somewhat? are you not different then what you were "two weeks" ago? wouldn't that, if anything, be a comprehension problem? i could smash this out of the park more and more but i think you get the point.

That's what we got for playing Kodi and them early in the year. It wasn't until we went to four guards that we went on the big win streak to start the SEC. Credit Kodi for continuing to improve instead of packing it in for the rest of the year and wait for a transfer. And credit coach for realizing that improvement and not being to hard headed for re-inserting him back into the rotation.

over time to be very competitive and the last couple of weeks in the season again proved that. My main gripe lately has been that because of all the recent defections, due I believe to some type of communication issues between staff and certain players, we essentially keep starting the molding process over at the start of each year. And that's why we stink up the preseason bad enough that we have to win a tourney title to get a 13 seed. In fact, if I hear one more MSU fan say the pre-conference schedule doesn't matter and that's its all about what you accomplish when the SEC season starts, I do believe my head will explode.

You congratulate Stans, then stick to your guns that he made a mistake by not playing Kodi/Osby. Why does some of you continue to talk like Kodi and Osby's performance/attitude was the same early in the year as it has been in the past few weeks? Do you not understand that they (Kodi especially) have pulled their head out of their *** which allows Stans to get them playing time?

One other factor in Stans decision to go small early in the year and revert back somewhat lately has been the health of Brian Johnson, I think. A combination of Osby maturing, Kodi- what the hell ever happened there, and Brian Johnson's ability to play some minutes gave Stans the confidence in a different rotation than during the "going small" run. And, of course, losing 5 of 6, something needed to change and credit the head coach for doing it again.

1. I'm pretty sure the guy who tried to prepare my steak the other night at Mortons had cooked more steaks than I have. But based on what he sent out of the kitchen, he should be doing something else. 2. And the fact that you can "blame your basketball philosophy" on two guys that flamed out of the best gigs they will ever have tells me you should be doing something else, too.

Are you still coaching basketball now? And if not, why not? Surely you weren't as "clueless" as you claim Stansbury is.

that the three morons Fishwater, C34 and Extreme are just always going to be on Stansbury's *** no matter what. They will take Kodi Agustus's side and say mean ole Rick has not been playing him enough and it wasn't Kodi's fault over that of the school's all time winningest coach.

Oh well the three morons have been exposed this week as being wrong. They are just like the arkansas fans during Nutt's time there. Hopefully the three morons will always number just three and that number will not grow. We are damn lucky to have a top notch recruiter like Stansbury and now its obvious that he has molded into a good coach. Personally, I thought he was a good coach back in 2002 when he won his first SEC tournament. He just had some very unfortunate luck in the NCAA tourney which will hopefully change this year or next. Roy Williams was unlucky in the NCAA tournament for several years at Kansas as well...

Actually your exact quote was "has started to changed my opinion of our coach". So which is it, Dexter? Have you "started" or have you "changed"?
