Some blame it on Mullen, others blame it on Lee. What the hell ever. Either way I have no doubt that we finally have a coach who at least realizes something went wrong somewhere and he will do what he can to fix it.
but the last play where Lee faked the fullback dive and took it himself was supposed to be an option play. The ball was supposed to be in Dixon's hands but Lee supposedly saw something that he thought he could sneak in with and wanted to be the hero. Sounds like Lee screwed the pooch with that last play, but I believe that if we were going to run a playaction pass we should have done it on 2nd down, not 3rd. Just my opinion.
I thought Mullen failed as much as he performed well. He had the team ready to play, ready to win. His only fault was he failed miserably with the personnel package he chose to puch the ball in.
I guarandamntee you Relf would have had us in the endzone at the end. He would compelte that pass. Or he would have put the ball in himself on 4th down.
the only thing that deserves to be questioned. The play calling was fine, the execution wasn't there. And you are right, if Relf does not complete the pass, he sure as hell runs the option and Dixon caps off a three TD day.
