Of course, the license proposal is getting the Evanston treatment.
I know the relationship between NU and the town is horrible. And I'd be the first to place most of the blame on NU. But Evanston and its citizens are not innocent of tainting those waters.
The neighbors are idiots who regularly do this as if the stadium was built three years ago. And yes, I was one of their Central St. neighbors and a homeowner there for seven years - first one block from the stadium, then 4 blocks from the stadium.
I love the woman who exaggerates there are 50 events every year. There are 15 events AT BEST that are inconvenient for the neighborhood.
My favorite is the person who whined at a meeting earlier in the year, "Northwestern has not proven themselves to be respectful to the neighbors like they used to be years ago — they had students come by after football games and clean up.”
BTW, if you didn't see it, now they're b**ching about the neighborhood parking also. Obviously, they're not very sharp if this is a sudden issue.

Evanston is an interesting place. How it keeps a reputation for being open minded, I'll never know.
