I mentioned in a thread I thought Ralph would end up being one of the top SEC QB's in 2011. And like clockwork, the Black Bears come out of the woodwork raising hell about that. The common response- "Relf only had good numbers in the last 3 games because he played against ****** defenses"...

then a Kentucky fan chimed in:

Interesting stats -

Player A vs Ark and Mich.

32 for 52 for 441 yds, 4TD, 1 Int, 27 rushes for 164 yds, 0 TDs, 605 total yds

Player B vs Ark and Mich.

38 for 53 for 569 yds, 3 TD, 1 Int, 46 rushes for 133 yds, 2 TDs, 702 total yds

Player A is Terrell Pryor- Player B isRelf.

You cold also give an edge to Relf since hisfavorite WR did not play in the bowl game. Although that may have given him better numbers in the bowl.

The one pic he had was a right before halftime heave ho picked in the end zone. basically, relf was flawless the last two.

I wonder how well he throws the deep ball this year. Defenses are going to have to stack the line to contain (not stop) the run game.

I think the emerging of Ladiarius Perkins and the screen plays for him created another outlet that made defenses hesitate. Before the UAB game or soI think we had not seen much of it. I know some on here were calling for it all season.
Relf might not be the most natural QB but he has the talent to run the system the way it was tailored for him. That makes him very valuable to our Offense.</p>

and not as good against good defenses. I haven't seen any studies on the topic, but I bet that's the case.

All 3 of Relf's incompletions against Michigan were either thrown out of bounds to avoid a sack or picked off to end the first half.

I thought one of Relf's best passes of the year was the one he threw over Arceto's shoulder in the Gator Bowl. Clark was interfered and still made the reception.

that Relf did not have one of our most reliable offensive weapons (Marcus Green) in either of those games as well.

I think we are about to see Ralph put up the beat season by a State QB ever.

Relf sure turned the corner last season and he has a lot of tools to work with: veteran RBs, strong group of WRs and experienced OL.

it baffles the mind how you are able to read that board (I assume that came from SEC Rant). I'm convinced that reading the mindless drivel that is spewed from those obvious retards actually lowers the IQ.

No ****. It seems like the MO for that board is as follows:<div>
</div><div>1. Post something related to your school of choice (ie. "Relf has a chance to be one of the top QB in the league this year.")</div><div>2. Watch as every stereotype is somehow worked in to a punchline against said school without regard to the original post. Bonus points for working in a some sort of internet meme or emoticon. ("ROFLcopter!!1!! MSU is a cow college and you are just butthurt.")</div><div>3. Rinse and repeat.</div><div>
</div><div>They may have the most members of any SEC board but the vast majority of them are just trolls. You have to wade through entirely too much **** to get to anything resembling decent sports talk. Say what you want about this board needing an enema but it is nothing compared to TD. The only reason Coach34 posts there is because he has become too bored with jerking you guys around. TD is simply a target richenvironmentfor him.</div>

They have had 2 go to arguments this spring
1.Yall didn't beat anybody worth anything (kicked yalls ***)
2.Relf only plays good against bad defenses (must mean your own)

Then they go ape **** over recruiting and talk about how good they will be in a few years. Am I missing something?

Relf has a shot to set the single season and career records at MSU for TD passes. Other than maybe losing Sherrod, I don't see any reason why our offense should be worse, and we really should be better.

We were one dimensional for much of last year- that won't happen this year.

....Leon Berry. Got hurt in the Houston game and out for the rest of the season (missed both the Arkansas game and the bowl game in the Relf/Pryor comparison).

Which is such a pathetic "argument" especially in a year when finishing 5th in the West produced a national ranking of 15th in the Country.

And no school that is 2-4 against Vandy over the last 6 years should be arguing about SEC or divisional records.

I believe if our offensive line can provide something near to what we had last year (sherrod is irreplaceable, guys like him only come around every five years or so<insert prayer>), Chris Relf will easily be a top 10 quarterback easily next year. Man it feels good have have depth at quarterback doesn't it? "Tyson Lee that was a real good kid right there" "Outstanding man off the field" "Always has a positive attitude" <-- 17 this mentality let's win.

Did Relf's numbers get better because Perkins emerged or did Perkins emerge because Relf started getting comfortable enough to run through his reads and start going to check downs? I know there were called screens but a lot of those big plays came from Relf going to a check down. I don't know if there is a QB in the nation that made more progress than Chris this past year.

there is not alot left gere for me to accomplish:

1. We fired Crooms finally and hired a good coach
2. Polk got the hint and "retired" and we hired a good coach
3.Most everybody with some sense has figured out that The Recruiter is never going to get us to a Sweet 16 and is a very average coach.

My work here has been successful

Relf was passing the ball to everyone better- not just Perkins. He was around 50% on his completion percentage until the Arkansas game, and then he was 65% of better the last three.

Give us Relf, and you can have Stoudt, Mackey, Stanley AND Brunetti. I love Relf and wish he had been our QB for 4 years. I might even consider a similar 4-for-1 trade for Russell. So there.

offensive teams we have ever put on the field and it should be a balanced attack. Our schedule is still tough but it always will be,we should win seven and eight is possible.</p>
