Have a soft spot for Sam Cooke and Van Morrison. Very powerful, unique voices with good melody.

"It Never Rains in Southern California" Albert Hammond

I absolutely love Sam Cooke and Van Morrison, but I've never considered them soft rock or easy listening.

**Merle Haggard - That's the way love goes
Bob Dylan - Tamborine Man

Yeah, I can see your point. Had a tough time thinking of something "soft" that I like, but "Into the Mystic" relaxes the **** out of me.

One of my favorites as a kid because my mom watched the movie non-stop and it still holds up well:

One of the great song intros of all time. I crank it up for that part and then skip the rest of the song.

PS- Also, the best song of that soundtrack is this.

Rick James' collaboration with Eddie Murphy. I still laugh when he goes on a talk show and they play it as intro music.

That would be the antithesis of easy listening.

It is what happens when someone's ego becomes so big that they think that they can do anything. Don Johnson tried the same thing in his Miami Vice days with similar result. Also Bruce Willis, Shaq, Paris Hilton and Deion Sanders.

^ David Soul from Starsky & Hutch fame. Another favorite of mine I like to crank up. I had actually written a screenplay back in HS that this was going to be the theme/opening song for.

Dangit, I really wanted to laugh at this thread...but I find myself here, carried away in a glass box of emotion by the soft-rock hits from the 70's, 80's and 90's.

"Sailing...takes me away, to where I'm going....

Well, if we're going full fruitbat in this thread then here are my contributions... and by the way my songs are way better than the rest of the fluff in this thread. If you;re going soft, then you might as well do it right:

Who didn't slow dance/skate with their JHS main squeeze while these tunes played?

If you're gonna be al sensitive and emotional you have to throw some female artists in there:

Carole King - It's Too Late
Joni Mitchell - Help Me
Nicolette Larsen - A Lotta Love
Linda Ronstadt - Blue Bayou
Carly Simon - That's The Way I Always Heard It Should Be

Would Fleetwood Mac be categorized as Easy Listening/Soft Rock?

Hard to believe that the band below has that question being asked about them. The answer is sadly yes, after the 70's anyway.

Song was playing the first time I ever made out in the corner of Champs in the 5th grade. I have no idea why I remember that. Holly was the chick's name.

I hope you tried on some new kicks before she got there to impress.

You guys just hide in the middle of one of those circular t-shirt / jersey racks and go at it?

Sounds super hot.

Besides, Allied Sporting Goods would have been the make out spot, not Champs Sports. Allied had an upstairs with tents and stuff.
