"Angel Eyes" - Jeff Healey Band
"More Than Words" - Extreme
"So Far Away" - Dire Straights
"Hello"- Lionel Richie

It truly pains me that a fellow cat fan would put More Than Words on any list that isn't called "biggest p*ssy songs ever". At least you didn't add Mr. Big- To Be With You. As a big fan of the hair band genre I cringe when either of those songs get any praise. I will let it slide since your other three songs are solid.

To add to the thread I love some Gordon Lightfoot.

You have to appreciate the occasional 'ballad' from a rock group. They were constantly surrounded by filthy sweaty ***** groupies, but it was the ballad that brought the nice, clean girls backstage with innocent heaving bosoms and fresh ladyparts. I salute these rockers with the good sense to throw a bone (so to speak) to the ladies who would not normally frequent a rock show.

Agree, there was a definite formula that worked for these bands: release 1-2 harder songs and follow up with a ballad to bring in the girls. There are some great power ballads, More Than Words is just not one of them. That crap song was the final nail in the coffin for hair bands.

Which is precisely why it was so important!

thats what happens and peter greene lives in a park for a year and then beats the **** out of his manager for trying to pay him.

When Bon Scott died Angus did not put a blonde woman in the band and then add 2 Americans. There were other singers like Peter Green they could have went for. They were much more successful going pop.
