Forget the context of why the speech was given for a minute. That was an amazing speech on its own.
Absolutely. I don't remember him being a bad speaker in his run for president, but I don't remember him ever giving a speech that good in 2012. This could make for a more interesting debate tonight. Basically, his point was to force a brokered convention, and that really is probably the best hope for the GOP now. It makes me wonder if anyone drops out between now and the convention. I guess that all depends on whether it looks like it really will be a brokered convention.

The surprising part to me. He said any of the other candidates would be acceptable. That included Cruz.

I didn't see the speech but one of his problems in the last election was the same as Gore in 2000. They both thought they had to be a certain way all the time and many people saw through the fakiness.

His biggest problem was the economy that Bush made.

This is trying to force a brokered convention. Once it gets to that point, the delegates have a lot more leeway, at least as I think things go. The only real sticking point would likely be the 8 state requirement that could rule out some of the folks. Honestly, I don't think a brokered convention means that Trump won't get the nomination. I doubt he gets it if it comes to that though. What they really have to hope for in order to reach a brokered convention is that Trump doesn't win any (or maybe it's any more) winner-take-all-delegates states.

lol, what would make my day is if the GOP establishment cheats their way and gets Trump out of the inevitable nomination. And then Trump runs as an independent as he should because it would be "beautiful" to see Trump pull down his pants and tells the GOP to kiss his ***. The people of the GOP primaries have clearly voiced their opinion, they want Trump. Why does the GOP refuse to accept that, nobody knows.

The issue is that if things go as Romney is pushing, Trump may not have won a majority of anything. If 3 other candidates had at least 8 state victories each, that's 24 states. It would take two other victories by someone over Trump to hold Trump less than 50%. Figure in the fact that many states divide their delegates among candidates who meet a minimum percentage mark, and that makes the official vote worse for Trump. A lot of ifs in there, and Trump can make all of those go away if he can continue to win at a brisk pace. If he clears the minimum delegate threshold, he's the nominee. The GOP doesn't do super delegates like the Dems.

That's not going to happen. At most one of the three will break 8. I'm thinking it's more likely going to be Kasich that has that chance rather than Cruz. Most of Cruz's best support is likely near finished.

john simply could not get any traction. May have attempted to get I too late. People, and I am people, are simply too tired of politics as usual. The system simply is not operating the way it was designed. Too much power controlled by too few. We will see a different election than what we are accustomed to, IMO.

He rolled over like a little puppy dog in 2012. Why not all this gruff against Obama. He is a loser.
He is a loser. He liked it in 2012 when he took Donald Trump. He said he really appreciated Trumps support.
