that should beat us 9 out of 10 times? I guess Memphis should beat us 10 out of 10. Seriously, I think Memphis has a pretty good team this year- they have a pretty good record right now. I still think USM is overrated, though.

And as far as Caleb Reed- I didn't think he was going to be around very long at all either. He had a really jacked up delivery when he first got to MSU. Butch has done a great job with him- he also has a lot of experience as well. He was learning how to pitch sidearm last year, and I don't think he liked it, but the staff wanted him to do that because they felt like he could be really effective as a sidearm guy. I think what we are seeing now is a compromise between Caleb and the staff, and it's worked out really well. And like a lot of our pitchers last year, we asked Caleb to do some things that he really wasn't suited for- that wasn't his fault.

And a great rebound after the Georgia series to win 2 straight over ranked teams. I've been on Cohen's *** after last season, but there's something different about this team. Something I haven't seen in a long time in an MSU baseball team. This team's got some fight in them. I liked this quote from Marcello's blog.

</p>
“We knew what to expect,” Ogden said. “We weren’t coming out here expecting to see the most un-hittable guy in the country. We knew he was hittable.”

Facing maybe the most dominant pitcher in the country so far this year, they expected to hit him and they did.</p>

One of the things that I talked about being much improved was the attitude of the team. That's a great example of what I was talking about.

in baseball, I was going to have to see it to beleive it. Well, I'm beginning to see some signs of it. We will still struggle to make the SEC tournament this year, but I think we really have a chance to be competitive next year. All I reasticallyhoped to see this year was improvement. And there's no doubt that we're improving. Even though this is Cohen's third year, it's kind ofrminding me ofMullen's first year.

..first you tell us this team will not win but 10 games in league play, & they are already 50% there with 20 league games left to play.

Then you are telling us the current #2 team in the SECW (#6 overall) is going to struggle to make the SECT.

I realize sixpackspeak.com is not exactly a bastion of accurate predictions, but keep it up.

It seems the more you pan this team, the better they perform.

I predicted 10-20 in league play. And we will still struggle this season. We have a serious scheduling disadvantage by not playing Kentucky. We could be the 7th best team in the league and miss the SEC tournament because of the schedule.

You may be right. I made some positive posts about this team last week too and we all see how they did agaisnt Georgia. Seriously, this is a young team and while the talent level is looking better than it has in a while, there's not yet the depth of talent it takes to win consistently in this league.

...this team does not have a "serious scheduling disadvantage."</p>

Go look at the combined league wins of MSU's last 3 regular seasonleague opponents. You couldn't ask for a better scheduling advantage.</p>

IfI had the choice between dropping Kentucky & adding an season-ending schedule that consistsof playing underachievers UT, OM & LSU, I would drop Kentucky.

Lastly, I don't understand why you say, "I didn't say that" (about winning 10 league games), then you confess you predicted MSU would only win 10 league games. </p>

Kentucky isn't even close to being in the same league as those 2. I agree about UT, but I'd still rather play BOTH UK and UT like 10 other teams in the league get to do.

I misread your post about the 10 games. I read it as you claiming I said we wouldn't win 10 SEC games. I now see that you correctly quoted me as saying we would only win 10 games.
