I just finished watching this documentary. Man those Nazi's were some sick, sadistic son of a guns. Obviously they were cowards as well as most either tucked tail to run or just killed themselves to avoid what was coming to them.
There's nothing great about war.
I've watched several episodes and it's pretty good. Scary that the US is repeating history of Deutschland circa 1936 today with a particular party and lots of really persuasive people.

Nazis did some hellacious and atrocious things. Some of them were cowards and many were outright sadistic and literal xenophobes.
but they were also extremely talented and ferocious fighters who continued in the path of clear defeat and to the death of brainwashed thousands. One thing I think that has never been in question is their talent for war.
having said all that, glad the good guys won. If not many of us would not be here.
Patton urged our government to immediately attack Russia after defeating the Nazi, despite being allies. That war stamped out one disgraceful ideology (Nazism) but allowed the other to flourish (socialism). This is why the world is repulsed by Nazism (actually a form of socialism) but almost completely ignorant to the evils of socialism itself.
Read Gulag Archipelago or for more modern reading Simon Sebag Montefiore's Court of the Red Tsar and Young Stalin.

Every country knew it long before the conclusion but they needed Russia to win the war, they operated under the lesser of two evils premise. Russia had a massive amount of soldiers but America supplied them with core metals to produce tanks, weapons and vehicles.Russia was immediately exposed as an enemy state at the conclusion of the war.
You’re just now finding out about WWII? The nazis were monsters but don’t forget about the Japanese. Google “the rape of Nanking”. Or Unit 731.
