I've been thinking about the Croom/Byrne situation. I think that people might be giving GB a little too much credit over the Cohen hire. Granted it took balls to get rid of Polk, but Cohen was as sure a thing as they come. There was no real "national" broad search. He basically said "hey you want the job, right". This isn't meant as a knock against GB. I think he made the best choice, but that doesn't mean he will be able or willing to get rid of Croom, or able to bring Belichick to Starkville. I think we can all agree that MSU probably isnt GB's dream position and I'm not sure that he will be willing to fire the SEC's first black coach. I think his aspirations will definitely play a role in this. Tell me why I'm wrong. And try not to use the "GB could hire anybody and they would be better than what we got" routine.
