Doesn't look like he wants to come here. Not that I blame him. We need to up not only the salaries for the new HC, but the staff as well. Why would any top tier coach come here if his OC and DC can't sniff 300k a year (which they did not last time he was here, for a reference point, Cristobal makes almost 500k as a line coach at Bama).

It wont happen but this could get done for $4.25 million - Schiano gets a approx. $2.75M, give Mario $750k and name him OC/Asst HC and hire Hafley as DC at $750k (with the understanding that it's really GS's defense). This is the ideal staff for me.

Come back home.
Roll your pant legs up.
It's time to fix the damage from the Flood.

Dude, how many times are you going to start this SAME EXACT TOPIC??

Schiano made Rutgers. We were 1-10 and 0-11 team until he came here. It took several years to change the culture and get better players but once he turned the corner RU became relevant for many years.
Yes. And we should be grateful to him for that.

But now we'd like to be more than relevant. We'd like to be really good. He never got us to that point except for one single year in which he still couldn't win the Big East. Eventually, he might have won the Big East (in part because it got even weaker than it already was). But I just don't see him producing winning conference records very often in the Big Ten East.

Hey! I was on the bring Schiano back team. He obviously isn't interested. As I look at the available candidate Ash has really jumped out to me and I'd love to get him. If we really had the $$$$ I'd want Mullen, so my latest top three is still #1 Mullen, #2 Ash and #3 Schiano.

Well it doesn't look like he is getting any of the other jobs out there right now. Guess he will sit out another year?

These threads makes us look like that desperate guy who begs his girlfriend to take him back, all the while she make him look like a fool. Move on and hire a coach that can recruit at a high level.

Rich Rodriguez (excellent coach) or Lane Kiffin (Superb recruiter)

If not, your best option left is Golden.

If by 'do it' you mean continue to enjoy the warm Florida climate with family while collecting fat severance checks from the Glazers, then I agree.

Only fans in the country that want a former .500 coach to come back..... that doesn't want to come back to Rutgers.

Stop with the .500 crap. He took over the worst program in the country. You can't really take into consideration the first three years. After that his record was solid.

Record in Big East play

2005 4-3
2006 5-2
2007 3-4
2008 5-2
2009 3-4
2010 1-6
2011 4-3

25-24 Not very impressive, especially when you consider he was mostly playing teams that weren't even in BCS bowl conferences a few years before.

How many BCS bowl games post 2006 in the worst conference in all of D1?
