I disagree. There are some spots that need upgrading (FS and WLB) but there is talent on the defense as well. Injuries really hurt this year.
Will Smith and Charles Grant are not pro bowl D-ends but they are solid. McCray is great as a 3rd D-end to rotate in. Sed Ellis, Clancy and Hollis Thomas are a good group in the middle of the DL and Lake is very solid depth. Vilma is a stud at MLB. Fujita is similar to Smith and Grant at DE... he is not all pro but more than adequate at SLB. Tracy Porter was playing great at CB until his arm injury (and then put on IR) Mike McKinzie is a very solid CB but we will see how he comes back. Randall Gay is solid. Both SS and FS are pretty bad but Harper might be worth keeping and move to SS under the new staff.
