I didn't say West Charlotte is a nobody. But guess what? Away from home they squeezed out a 1 point win against West Charlotte. They were flagged for only one penalty in the opening game of the season? Really? I agree. I'm not forgetting Weddington or Hough. All three of them do it. Grimsley has perfected it the most. Don't mention Varina. I was born and raised in Richmond, Va and am very familiar with Varina and Highland Springs. Just so you know, Virginia's football is not quite up at the same level as North Carolina. Varina being the second best team in the state of Virginia is debatable. "60 straight regular season wins, 28 straight wins 2 states titles in 4 years, 3 title game appearances". A team who was a perennial bottom feeder in Greensboro and North Carolina, suddenly having that success? When they beat up on the little sisters of the poor during the regular season and most of the playoffs, they should have that record with all their high quality transfers. Thank you. You proved my point. Now, if they upgraded their schedule and played some high quality teams from Georgia, instead of Virginia, then I'd give them kudos. Perhaps if they ventured out and played a couple of Ohio powers. But if they did that, they wouldn't keep their winning streaks going and get home games for the the whole playoffs, like they do now. I don't know if it was a home and home series, but Grimsley couldn't even play Varina away from Jamison Stadium. They met Weddington and Hough in the playoffs...at home. They're always at home and can't be brave and venture out. But, you brought up the Charlotte stuff, here ya go.....I have mentioned this: Chad Greer has a pretty good recruiting thing going on at Providence Day. Grimsley should try their hand at them, but of course Providence Day is a private. That would really be brave for Grimsley.
