very strange. Grindle needs to get his head on straight and figure out whether he wants to bust his *** and become the best he can, or not.

for a team at another school without apparently talking to ANYONE at that school. I doubt you will be seeing any MSU players placed at PRCC in the near future.

I have a feeling the folks at PRCC are not being completely honest. Just a theory but word ges our that Grindle is not completely happy (hard work, depth chart, Balis, who really 17n knows). PRCC gets a word to him that he would be welcomed with open arms plent pt and the such, Whatever, I think someone on their staff contacted him or the comment about nobody calling him would have been made. jmo

in case he didn't make to MSU. Basically every kid we've ever 'signed and place' has signed with MSU and a JUCO.

...but like you I wonder how this could happen. There have got to be rules governing this or this kind of thing would be happening all the time. I mean, they have rules for EVERYTHING else. PRCC says they signed him "on the spot"? Really? Some sort of rules violation is probably why Grindle is staying, now. I think the chances are pretty good Grindle will eventually leave after proper protocol has been followed, whatever that might be.

a marginal kid may sign with a JUCO along with a D1 school as a fall back plan in case he doesn't get qualified. This signing that took place apparently last Friday was AFTER Grindle was fully eligible and cleared at MSU.

So what happens when "good attrition" is no longer attrition at all? This is bad news, right? I mean, this weak #$!$%! is going to taint the rest of the team with his non-balis made ***.

I don't think we know the whole story. I'm willing to give the kid the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it wasn't toughness, or laziness. Could be other issues driving his decision.

It's good to have him back, but he's got a long way to go if he wants to ever contribute if he almost quit this soon. Fact is, there's always going to be attrition. You need a certain amount of it to stay within the 85 scholarship limit. As long as you're not losing productive players in that attrition, then it's "good" attrition.

Let's start with the rebel, that's just jealousy. <div>
</div><div>Onto our own fans. Yeah, we are running off freshman because we work too hard. Right. I know Balis and Mullen have a hard way of doing things, but has it possibly crossed anyone's mind that maybe Grindle is just 18 years old and may be homesick? That would be my guess. He just found out he's not as much of a star as he thought he was, at least not yet. </div><div>
</div><div>I will give Mullen and Co. credit for one thing, he needs to stay in Starkville. The leaches from PRCC need to shut the **#! up. They may not have called first, but once they saw the door crack open (ie. Grindle told Mama he wanted to come home, for whatever reason, and the coaches caught wind), they pounced. Marcus Dupree said it best...."I should have went back to Oklahoma".</div><div>
</div><div>Guy's got an attitude adjustment to make. Hope he makes the right decision. But sounds like he's got some enablers around his hometown and the surrounding areas. Yes, Mullen and Co. work our guys hard, but let's not jump on the sheep-wagon and say running him off is a good idea because he doesn't have the Mullen work ethic. Sometimes you have to work with these guys, and it seems like we are.</div>

I realize that you are probably still pubescent and quite dense, but I do hope that life teaches you some lessons sooner rather than later. That would benefit you and everyone else. But I support our players and our team.

Was I the only person that knew a lot of people that had trouble adjusting their first year of college? For every 5 or 6 people I knew having the time of their life, I knew somebody that was wishing they could go back to highschool. I'm pretty sure being able to go to JUCO where a lot of their friends were and where they would be 10 minutes from home would have been seen as the next best option by those people. I think a lot more of them would have done it had they moved to starkville the summer before and gotten homesick before fall classes started. A lot of them still went home every weekend, let their grades go, and went to JUCO after Christmas break.

Do we really want this kid back? 17 you Grindle. Go run to mommy. We need to weed out this type of attitude from all the frosh and make sure we have nothing but winners on the roster. Anyone who quits like that doesn't deserve to wear the maroon and white.
