...are we happy with the Arthur/Koufos deal? I like it. We now have a true backup center to spell Gasol. I think it's a foregone conclusion that Allen is back. Bayless re-upping is a pretty clear indication that letting Hollins walk was a popular decision within the team.

There won't be any money left after signing Allen to go get a shooter, which is troubling. This leads to the million dollar question: Do you trade Zach Randolph to bring in a scorer? I don't think I would, but it's worth thinking about.

I am thrilled with it

And I'm still not sure they don't go after a shooter. I think Vernon said they have about ten million to work with and even if they did go over they have until next summer to get under that cap

Loved the trade. Basically two deep at every position if Tony cones back. DA was a solid player but has been injury prone and he also tended to make some boneheaded mistakes at times.

Seems like Monta Ellis would be a good fit in Memphis. He's a FA, plus he already has a house there. Instant offense is what the Grizz need. Monta could play the 1 or 2 whenever needed.

I think he was at 12 mil. He turned down the Bucks offer last week.

I'd love to see him get on with the Grizz some how. He might would take less to get on board with the Grit and Grind. Doubtful though.

He turned down $11 mill. He's not much of a defender either. Sounds like a perfect fit to replace jr smith in NY.

...but after hopefully signing Allen they won't have the money for him

I read the Grizzly forum last week after I heard there was interest from Monta in coming to Memphis. I was excited about it until I read his stat lines someone posted. We can find a shooter that will keep us under the cap. Monta is not the answer.

Yah, I'm pretty sure they bough Lorenzen Wright's old house

He supposedly expressed interest in playing in Memphis, I just don't know if that same interest was returned

Out of that ten million comes Tony Allen (approximately 5 mil) and now Jarred Bayless (3.1 mil). They also have to decide if they are going to tender Jon Leuer and Austin Daye, which also comes out of that. So, no, they don't have the money to go after a shooter unless they trade someone.
