Will we finally advance with the momentum we got building right now do you think we could get past the 1st round assuming we bump a spot to the 7th seed over NO so we wont play the spurs

.....against the Spurs or Lakers. Especially without Rudy. I just want to see them have a competitive first round and build on it next season

I never thought Thabeet was worthy of the number 2 pick because I didn't think he was very skilled around the basket and that his lack of talent was maskedin college by his height. Gasol is an ok player, but if your center averages just over 11 points a night, you can't expect to hang with the big teams in the west like the Lakers and Spurs. They need to upgrade at center, and there really aren't many good options there in the upcoming draft, especially in terms of American born players. If the Griz canupgrade at centerand improve the quality of their bench depth, they can start to creep their way up past the 8th seed in the future.

I agree I'd rather not play Spurs but keep in mind we beat the Spurs by 20+ on the road two weeks ago.

There is more to playing center than scoring. Gasol is considered one of the top 10 true centers in the NBA. There are "forwards" playing center on many teams (including the "old" Grizzlies with Pau Gasol) who can score more but not have the body type to play the total center position. Mark Gasol is fine.

David West of the Hornets suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury in the Hornets win at Utah tonight. West was taken off
in a wheelchair.
