Grizz thread: Would Ben Gordon be any help for the rest of the year?

He still shoots over 40% from three, and he's playing less just because of the situation he's in. Sure he was a dick to his coach last week, but I think Zbo and Gasol could keep him in line. He appears to be available for a nickel.

Bayless is one of Lionel's boys. He will get plenty of opportunities that don't make sense for the team just because of that.

Grizz definitely need another 3 pt shooter but whatever the case they can't give up much so it's gonna be tough.

He's a better shooter than Mayo I think so yes the Grizz could get him cheap probably.

If we can afford him, yes. Big yes. Our problem is perimeter shooting and he could fill that void some. I have no doubt Z-Bo could keep him straight, nobody messes with that guy.

I wouldn't mind giving it a shot for free, but I'm not sure how the Grizz would be able to make this work considering that he makes $12.4M this year. With basically only our $7.5 exception to offer, I think there would have to be a 3rd team that was willing to dump a $5M player for a draft pick or something like that. There are a few teams out there trying to get under the lux tax threshold so I suppose it's possible.

Now that I look at it, I'm also not real fond of that $13.2M player option that he has for next year either, but if we can make it work, it may be a decent gamble. Gordon can provide some serious firepower when his head's on straight.
