I like that deal. Cost a pick, but you had to cut ties. It was time.

The Mayo thing is frustrating. They could have stayed set back when and they would have Kevin Love. I guess I like it. Mayo is fast becoming a head case, and at least they are getting a pick back. Josh McRoberts? Eh... whatever.

Regardless, looks like they got rid of Thabeet. That has to be a good thing.

Now the question is how said head case will react when he's stuck with the team that just showed they wanted to trade him.

No kidding. If he's a head case before, I'm sure he'll be a strong team player now that he knows he was almost shipped out for not much.

Sure, we needed post help in the worst way, and 7'3" guys who can actually be decent aren't that easy to find. I guess it's good to take a flier on a guy who is still young, and knowing that you have a scoring PF in Scola on the offensive end. I hate losing Battier, but he's not going to be the guy to carry you in the playoffs. Plus, throwing in the future first round draft pick is big, and Morey knows how to play the draft.

Now, for a playoff team, getting Battier is huge. He's the consummate team player - does the dirty work and can knock down open shots. I enjoyed watching him play - he'll be a good pickup for Memphis.</p>

I would've traded Thabeet for a bag of peanuts and a cold beer. Anything over that is a plus. Glad to see the glue come back to Memphis.
