Gotta admit my heart was pounding while Kobe was dribbling around the top of the key at the end. Interesting that Jackson didn't take any timeouts down the stretch.

....but not as bad as I expected. The annoying thing to me is all the folks there pulling for the Lakers. I can understand being a Lakers fan if you don't have a hometown team, but sheesh.

Also, the Grizzlies have been winning, so they should've earned respect from the officials by now. They continue to not get the calls that an NBA team is supposed to get at home. I don't know how it came across on TV, but the officiating seemed to be really bad tonight.

The biggest thing I noticed were the fouls called for Kobe late in the half.

The biggest problem the Grizz have right now are that all their studs are still relatively young. It's not enough just to be good if you're expecting the calls in the NBA. You have to be both good and experienced to get the calls as a player.

If the Grizzlies can keep their core in tact, they'll be getting those calls in a few years both at home and on the road.

A foul against Kobe should be a foul against Hudson. Simple. I know Kobe and LeBron whine at every chance they get if they don't get a call, but if the NBA would have nipped this crap in the bud a long time ago the horrific officiating wouldn't be a problem right now.

..Kobe, LeBron, Tim Duncan, Dirk...it's unbelievable, the **** they get away with. Meanwhile, every time someone has the gall to whistle them for a foul, they cry and moan about it. Duncan is the worst...that guy honestly doesn't believe he's ever committed a foul in his career.

Meanwhile, Marc Gasol gets the **** kicked out of him every night and gets very few calls.

It sounded more to me like they were just pulling for Kobe. There wasn't as much cheering when other Lakers made a play. Either way, it was pretty annoying. The Grizzlies have been too hot for there to be that many visiting fans in the Forum. That shouldn't happen.

tim duncan. it would be nice if one of these "stars" would act like a man at some point instead of the stare down or the bitchy whine. this is the best pic of duncan I've ever seen:

Black Mamba? Are you kidding me? That's an insult to Beatrix Kiddo, a.k.a.The Bride, if I've ever heard one............

That's just the NBA. It's about protecting its stars.

The NBA, moreso than any other professional league, sells its stars. It's good for the league when Kobe and Lebron put up big numbers, so they get calls.

And it goes further than that, just being a decent player and a veteran gets you calls against rookies and 2nd or 3rd year guys. Rudy, OJ, and Marc will get those calls in the future, but they won't right now. That's just the NBA, which makes it all the more impressive when a team like the Grizzlies can compete against the current superstars.
