Ground pork?

Putting my ignorance on full display here; is it safe to assume that ground pork and sausage are not the same thing?

Generally, sauage is ground pork with seasoning of some sort in it.

A friend of mine slaughtered a pig in December and ground the hams and shoulders. He then canned and pressure cooked it. Talk about good stuff for pizza or pasta sauce...
