We haven't made a hire yet. It also said if USC had lost Saturday he would have gotten the job. Color me skeptical

as per article from a competing site (so I won't post the link). Wonder if he passed on us too.

No one has passed on Rutgers yet, because, they haven't tendered any
formal offers yet.

Schiano can recruit New Jersey and Florida. He is only 49.
And he can coach defense and special teams as well as anyone.
With a good offensive coordinator on his staff, Schiano would be ideal
for Rutgers.

I don't think GS would even interview for UCF, unless it was for practice. No way he would go there.

I would enjoy seeing him get hired at another school and succeed, just a) not Miami, because they suck and I want to see them continue to suck, and b) not us, because you don't go back to that.

Sounds like GS wants Miami, but will take RU and he knows it's available - so he passed on other choices.

He beat Dantonio already....
I wouldn't put too much stock into that victory. That was Cincinnati's first year in the Big East like last year was our first year in the B1G. Plus, the next year, Dantonio and crew upended our undefeated season. And Dantonio's team this year is 2-0 vs. Urban Meyer and Jim Harbargh.

Who are the coaches, besides Saban, who can beat these guys? Reality is that Rutgers and Maryland will be fighting for fourth or fifth place for the foreseeable future no matter who they hire.

Hey I appreciate that GS has not proven that he is a better coach than the big three. But to say he can't beat them is dumb. We could have between MSU this year and they may be playing for a national title. The better question is whether he can consistently beat them.

You're using the word "and" when it should be "or". Otherwise, no one could do it. Certainly not Indiana or that team from near Baltimore.

That game was where Schiano's limitations as an offensive coach really came into full view. Cinci cheated their way to that win by mugging WRs on every play in man coverage and selling out against the run. A good offensive coach would have found a way around that.
