Nobody outside the state of Mississippi (unless they were originally from Mississippi) will watch it.

About right. Surprisingly, outside Mississippi there doesn’t appear to be much interest in this game. Really not a tremendous amount inside Mississippi either.
If we weren't up against Texas/Ohio State it would be higher.

I’d be shocked if its over 150,000 or so.

Only like 65,000 people watched MSU vs Toledo last year, and that one was an evening time slot with the entire country getting 2.5 hrs worth of heads up that a MAC team was punching the SEC in the mouth. This game is no different. There will actually be even less interest nationally than Toledo. It being opening weekend is the only hope for it eclipsing 6 figures.

We are on ESPN immediately following Corso's last ever pick.

It will be the best rating we have all year until viewers turn the channel.

There'll be some interest from State fans just to see how the team looks this year, and to become familiar with some of the players names. Same time slot as Texas/fOSU doesn't help.

I think you are the only person on this planet that hates Lee Corso
I don't sit and b-itch about him, I just don't like watching him. He was a terrible head coach (73-85 college 5-13 USFL) that didn't offer anything on GameDay pertaining to football other than his mascot head silliness. He is better than McAfee though I'll give him that

Been watching ESPN, and SEC NW some this afternoon.
The games after ours are being promoted like heck, with no mention of our game, which starts the day.

It should be good. Lee Corso’s final pick immediately followed by Miss State @ Southern Miss

I’m gonna guess a couple hundred thousand at most. It’s an FCS game that will only be available on streaming. It will probably peak in the first hour between Tennessee-Georgia and Ole Miss-Arkansas. Hopefully, by then, it will not be a game worth watching.

Interesting. When do you think tv/streaming ratings will dictate scheduling for the mid to lower tier power conference teams? I mean the network pays the conference for content and in return they expect ratings in order to sell ads right? When do they start "making" the out of conference schedules? Better yet do you ever see a day where they dictate conference affiliations?

I think it is very obvious great matchups and certain schools are best for ratings. You know the networks want 10m viewers rather than 1m.

It will be interesting to see what rating the 3 big games on ABC get this week. Also it will be interesting to see what OM v Ark get on espn compared to UF v LSU and aTm v ND on network tv.

I think what saves the lesser P4 schools is... 1. The big boys want a breather week. 2. ESPN still needs all the schools to fill time slots.

I imagine NcSt v Wake last night had more viewers than if espn had axe throwing or another Talk show.
