"Replacing him will be more by committee next season, Nutt said."

We all know that means he won't be missed. As long as X amount of other players combine for his totals, and the offense as a whole produces around the same amount of yards...then, he won't be missed.

Nevermind all those electrifying runs, the fact that other teams have to game plan around him, his experience, etc.

And I agree with him. That guy scared me more than any opposing player in a long time. I didn't realize until yesterday that he is the only player in SEC history with 1,000 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving in a season.

it is about my stance that we really won't muss Dixon that much this season...I feel like the players we have will produce as much or even better numbers than were posted last season. Between Relf and the TB's, we will be more than fine and a top 3 rushing attack in the SEC. Especially with Relf's ability to stretch the field with the deep pass- something we didnt have last year.

You just adapt your offense and try to get production in other ways.

Needless to say, our play-calling will be a little bit different this year. I actually think we will see more Wildcat than we saw last year, and we'll probably spread the ball around to more players, hence the replacing him by committee line. We won't be giving any single player 25-30 touches a game unless someone surprises.

if you get it, then they were replaced...

Nobody thought Peyton Manning could be replaced at Tennessee did they?

it was just a sarcastic little jab at your stance. just for a chuckle.

i think we just have different interpretations of "missing" the player in question. Yes, production is production, but you can't tell me that we wouldn't be better off if Dixon was on the team again (or McCluster was on OM again next year). yeah, they're gone and not coming back...i know. But I would take Dixon over this "by committee" thing all day long.
