No way Gundy leaves. Pretty sure I remember his buyout being massive and after how much the barners are paying ex-coaches, I still find it hard to see them filling out the cash for another high paid coach with a massive buyout clause. At some point there has to be a point of diminishing returns.

I don't think there's much chance of it, but it would be a home run, A+ hire. The guy just keeps winning, year after year, at a less prestigious program. (Or one that used to be less prestigious until he started coaching there.)

Lots of second place finishes. In a conference with Alabama and Georgia that will make Auburn very happy. ****

Gundy's a very good coach. I would even take him when Leach decides to call it quits. Stillwater is almost identical to Starkville in size, lifestyle, and rural setting. He has a lot of 10+ win seasons in a sort of an out-of-the-way location. He would fit right in at Starkvegas. All that said, I don't think he'll leave at this stage in his career being invested so heavily at OSU.

Y’all know he’s an OK St grad? No way someone would leave their alma mater to go to Auburn.
It seems his name is in the mix every single time a big name school has an opening but he remains at OkSt year after year. He is playing games to get a raise.

I dont think he is playing games. I think his name goes in there because traditional media cant fathom him staying there. But he's incredibly successful there. Ok St has the money to keep him no matter what.

Check his record against Oklahoma. Auburn folks aren’t gonna be beating down the door for a coach who is 3-14 against his rival.

He’s playing games to get a raise?
For 17 years?

ETA: Nevermind. I misread this the first time.

You clowns are overlooking the obvious.

Have you not been paying attention to the quality of football Illinois is playing?

Best coached team in the land.
I love some Bert football. Ole Miss would cry if he came back to the league

That's why cohen will find him interesting. Good program over time. Doesn't care that he loses to the rival. He's just like leach just better. That's why I think he will go after gundy. Offensive guru type. Sounds like a cohen hire to me.

And it will be the end of his honeymoon because a "Cohen hire" and "Auburn hire" are quite different things.

Gundy is 3-14 against Oklahoma....y'all cool with that for the Egg Bowl?

(Not that it matters, since Gundy consistently uses other schools to get pay raises at his current one)
