Anyway, Gus Malzahn has always been no brainer and perfect fit for us here in Mississippi. Especially with regards to his offense and our high school talent and programs.

He sucked as head coach at UCF once they went to the Big 12. He’s a hell of an offensive coordinator though.
He had a pretty decent job at the time. Not sure why he left.
Supposedly Chizik was lobbying hard for our job though.
Is that his fault? Or does UCF have the boosters to fund a good G5 team, but not a good P4 team?
I agree. Wouldn't want him as an HC, but he's a top-flight OC.
It's becoming obvious that Guster may be pareto principle - ing himself at OC. However, I happen to believe that folks can outsmart that principle with work ethic and just straight up fire. Gus seemed to have some of that yesterday. I think he might be at that age (58-59) where he will go into some head job somewhere, and get after it for about 10 years. What we thought we had with Leach. Surely Gus would not have a heart attack.
