but my source is still saying Petersen.

I asked about the statement that was released Friday night and he just said "sometimes it takes time to iron out the details."

I just don't believe he's right anymore. But, the interesting things to consider are this:

1. He never speculated a name until Thursday night. This guy is a big MSU fan and while everyone was throwing out names he would just say "haven't heard anything definitive." Except for Todd Graham and Derek Dooley are not being considered.
2. He said on Monday that Byrne would be in Denver either Tuesday or Wednesday. I think people tend to think that Byrne was on that flight - its been verified that he was out of town on Wednesday.
3. He's the same guy who told me on Tuesday to expect the college football world to be shocked. I just don't expect a low-tier head coach or a high coordinator to be shocking. Head coach of a top 10 team= shocking.
4. He told me Friday morning that it would leak. It did. However, he did not expect the statement and while it seemed odd to him, he still sticks by the fact that it's Petersen.
5. He told me this morning just to sit back and watch. It will work out and I'll be happy. I told him I would out him on all the message boards if he's wrong and he said he didn't have anything to worry about.

So, I'm sitting back and watching.

How does he have this exclusive information? Is his last name Byrne, Keenum, or Ruby? Does he work in the Bulldog Club (not a member)?

...but my endorsement here will probably provoke more negative responses than positive. When I say "A" here, there are some programmed to respond "B," and add some epithets. That being said, "I think you are right." I am not sure you are right. I am not sure of anything with this search, only that I will be very happy when it is announced.

are all still set that we have Petersen. I don't buy any of this until we see an official announcement. I've wasted too much time speculating this past week instead of getting things done. I'm just going to sit back as well and wait until the coach is announced.

You poor martyr. The only reason people say B when you say A is because you make completely off the wall ridiculous statements like Anthony Dixon will be in the running for the Heisman. The examples of this are legion. Save us those kinds of posts and your opinions here are as valid as any other. Check that, your opinions are much more valuable than some of the morons who have jumped on this board in the last 12-18 months. I would say "you konw who you are," but they are so clueless they don't.

And say I refuse to buy this utter ********. The reason I'm replying is that this is my feeble *** attempt to introduce my own negative *** karma. By calling you out as spreading complete ********, I seek to introduce a cosmic level karma vortex that leaves me vulnerable to your ridicule.

Something happened.

I dunno what.

He was considering it due to GB, otherwise he'd stay at BSU or at least out West.

The ones that count really expected him, I know that.

I'm not convinced he's out of play yet.

it never fails that when I leave my seats, whether its to relieve myself or to go to the locker to refresh my brown water, something good happens and I miss it. Since it makes me get up more often, I consider drinking whiskey at games as my contribution to whatever little success we have.

That being said, there is no way in hell that Chris Petersen is going to be the next coach in Starkville.

According to the Boise website and as we discussed earlier, it is scheduled for the bowl selection. Go to their website.

There would not be a press conference in Boise before there was one in Starkville.

People who should know that have no connection to MSU but connections to Petersen say no. I suspect the latter but am still woolly enough to think the former can happen.
