Well, nice to know my ranking of OPRF was slightly unwarranted. GW got stopped twice on 4th down and missed a FG in the 1st half. 2nd half was dominated by GW.

Not sure which side you were sitting but have you ever seen worse treatment of refs by a group of dads/fans as the OPRF group at halftime? OPRF are always great hosts and have outstanding support but thought they went way too far last night. The call that seemed to rile them didn't end up costing them points and seemed to be the right call.

Ultimately, that was as good a game as GW has played this year. Two first downs in the 2nd half says a lot about the adjustments Hetlett made on D at half.

We all talk about Brodner, and rightly so, but the GW o line are absolute surgeons. They, along with Dionte Moorehead ( a d lineman everyone will be watching next year) abused the OPRF defense in the 2nd half. At one point, West ran the same play 8 straight times and never gained less that 6 yards finishing with a Brodner TD going in untouched to put the game out of reach.

HC might have the best raw strength of any oline in the state, but GW might have the best tacticians.

I felt GW was in control nearly the entire game. They made exactly the adjustments needed at half, and never looked back. After 7 games, the o line is clicking, the QB is as effective as any QB in the state, and the defense is the best in the state. GW has 2 final games to smooth off the remaining rough edges (and the have a couple) before playoffs start. I hope they can make 8A, because I'd love to see them flatten HF in week 4 or 5 of the playoffs. I am now very optimistic about the next 6 weeks for GW.

I heard about the refs...

Anywho, it doesn't look like 8A is a possibility for GBW... From my calculations looks like traditional 8A teams will be 7A. Also I think HFs strength is where GBW might struggle in they have WRs with some good size and if I remember correctly the GBW cb's were shorter.

As for the OPRF game, thanks for beating them worse than you did us because my old man had been yapping all season, now it's pretty quiet lol

GBW fans heckle the refs a decent amount, but I agree OPRF took it to a new level on a call that made absolutely no difference. Cochrane is showing tremendous poise at QB.

I saw the call you guys are talking about and the officials made the right call. As an official, I found myself reaching for my flag...lol. then again, I rarely disagree the calls, or non calls. As far as I am concerned, just ignore anyone boo'ing who has not stood on a field to officiate for a few seasons.

I agree GW parents, myself included, are vocal in our displeasure when we have games where our penalties outnumber our visitors 10-1, but we have never booed refs off the field quite like that. But enough said I guess.

I agree Cochrane has had a huge impact on opening up the field when Brodner gets so much attention. He never seems to get rattled by blitzes or crucial situations. It takes a lot of nerve to drop touch passes into tight situations or zing it into small gaps. He has made every throw this year and you can count on one hand his "bad throws."

I'm sure the kid from Lville is having an all world season but Cochrane might be the difference for West this year. We have had some top quality QBs come through here, last year included, but BC is right up there.

I was on OPRF's side after I officiated the soph game (I thought I gave it away but apparently I didn't). I have no clue what call OPRF fans was complaining about at the end of the 1st half. None. The PI call was clear. Maybe something on the squib kick? I didn't see anything. And I know who that crew is too (and no you will not get it out of me)

I think it was the pi call. Unfortunately from the visitor stands you can't see **** so I have no opinion on the call. I hate the visitor stands at oprf.
