GW's game against Amherst County Saturday has been cancelled. Officially, it will go into the record books as an Amherst forfeit. They had two dozen positive COVID tests on their team and were not able to field a team for Saturday's game, due to COVID protocols.

GW will (hopefully) open their season September 10th at home against E.C. Glass.

I hate COVID.

Are you sure it goes in as a forfeit? In the spring it went in as "No Contest" if a team wasn't able to play due to COVID.

Agreed. It would make zero sense to be a forfeit when all other COVID cancellations have gone down as “No Contest”.
