Really looking forward to Anth/Jaime adding one more weapon, arguably the biggest, to their condescension arsenals available for use in fights.

-Congrats to the Schems. Awesome news.

-First day back in the office. Couldn't ask for a better transition. 90 percent of co-workers stayed home, so I can just catch up without having to tell my story 30 different times. Nice way to ease back into things.

-Johnny Jones is TERRIBLE. He'll look better next year because of the incoming talent, but goodness....I have no idea what LSU was trying to do down the stretch last night.

-Nice, job, Dawgs.

-Thon Maker is a freak, no doubt. Curious to see if Cal can convince him he can co-exist with Skal, especially if DJ leaves. Wish we could get a big-bodied rebounder like Swanigan in this class too.

-Looks like Athenian Grill is moving out by my office. That doesn't suck.

at UGA as well, being down 20 at half, at home, to USC.

They came all the way back to tie, but ultimately blew it ---> and my 5 Team ML, of course.

Guess I'll never learn to quit betting SEC Basketball. It's way worse odds than 50/50, which isn't supposed to be possible given there are only 2 sides to bet, but it is.

According to my calculations, You basically have about a 2 in 10 chance of winning a bet on an SEC Basketball game not involving Kentucky. I see value in that, apparently.

Jones shlt down his leg the last few minutes of our game as well. Some head scratching decisions that gave that game right back to us.

Kentucky did get mentioned once. After 14 hours of deliberation, when the entire bracket was set, I said to the room: "This was a ton of work just to hand a trophy to Kentucky in a few weeks." Some people laughed. I didn't.

*Congrats Sloot and Anth. Really looking forward to your future posts.

^Yep, it's why I have kind of quit. Even with parlays I bet with my heart way more than head or whatever is on TV. Who knows how college teams are going to play in February. That's a crap shoot itself. To make money in sports you have #1 be really f*cking good, #2 bet on ****** games were you can find value, #3 bet a ton to get get a return b/c of the ML.

If you're betting on the big games not telling what the odds actually are.

As WCC pointed out, Maker looks to be more sizzle than steak at this point. It reminds me of how NBA teams would treat a freshman coming out of college, though. Who wouldn't want to take a flyer on a 7-1 guy who can handle the ball and plays like a small forward? He's a mismatch waiting to happen and any college would like to have him.

In the games I saw, he tried to run a fast break and lost the ball once or twice trying to go behind his back. Glass-half-empty says why would he try something like that, but it didn't look strangely out of place. It looked as 'natural' as it can from a player of that size, so there's a huge 'wow factor' that's impossible to ignore.

IU plays most of their games on Thurs/Sun nights these days.

Is there anything that isn't awful or annoying about that program?

I'd be so pissed if our schedule was like that.

When did this become a thing? It should be a F'ing S-curve.
Same here.

But hey, look at the bright side, he said that if Virginia coughs up two more because Anderson is hurt they'll give them the 2 and send them to Cleveland. That way we can face them at full strength in the elite eight, because that's obviously where the consensus two best teams should square off. The Elite Eight. I'm now convinced our two seed is going to be Wisky, Duke, or Virginia and I'm already pissed.

lol at the thought of us just taking a flyer on Thon Maker. You don't take flyers on guys like that. You try your damnedest to sign them because they are ridiculously talented and can help you win immediately. He's basically the opposite of a flyer.

Monday, Friday and Sunday games

Digging the upcoming 8p Wednesday game. That's perfect for a week night. 7p is a rush to get home, exercise, eat, and be seated.
9pm. I marcus take a PTO day following those games.

Unless it's a (formerly) marquee Super Tuesday game like Florida that I need some time to catch a nice buzz before, 9pm is just too much. It's almost like a chore for me to stay up that late to watch what is typically garbage.

7pm Tues/Wed, and mid afternoon on Saturdays ftw.

There is already a thread on the Louisville board wanting to know what the Cards chances are of getting Maker

I worship 8pm (central) games. 6 is a pain in the *** with kids, dinner, just getting home from work, etc... At 8, everyone is winding down, putting the youngest to bed, and I can get two seconds to sit down and watch it.

Guess what… our 2-seed will be one of the top 8 teams in the country.

Whoever it is, people on here will ***** and moan that it isn't fair. It happens every year.

Stop being pussies. Drop the mic and play ball.

Yep. Getting 3 kids bathed and put to bed = DVR'ing and not being able to start watching until about 7:30 CST. Hate it.

Willy is correct. We are going to have to play and beat good teams at some point. I relish the opportunity to knock out some good teams.

The parties, bars, tailgates, booze, traveling and general shift in priorities doesn't bother me really that much at all.

But... lack of sleep, no naps, etc has me terrified. We're both big time sleepers and nappers. That's going to take some getting used to.

Point taken. Trying to multitask, but was thinking of an NBA team taking a flyer on a young college prospect and misspoke. Apologies for the post not meeting this thread's standards of eloquence.

I can't take naps, never could.

The few times per year I do, on accident, it completely ruins my day/night, and then makes sleeping at night even more difficult than it already is.

I KNOW I KNOW WAIT TIL YOU HAVE KIDS THEN YOU WILL BE NAPPING ALL THE TIME WHEN YOU CAN HAHA.

I've done pretty well on Kentucky this year. And hell, UofL for that matter. I tease the UK line down 1/2 point or a point every time which has been prudent.

But, my rule of CBB GAMBOL is to only bet the local big 3 of UK, UofL, and IU. Those are the 3 programs I generally have something of a "feel" for. For instance, I don't think I have any insight whatsoever as to bet a Michigan/Michigan State game. That's just a black/red bet at the roulette table to me. I'll do it, but usually only if I'm bored and for not much money. Hammered the Cats Saturday and last night, of course.

Also, if UL is really w/out Chris or hell even with him. That's not a bad draw for us. I'll take a team that everyone knows can't score. Much better than ND or IU.

- Congrats Anth and WS.

- DINK 'til I die.

- LOVE napping. I normally nap a couple of hours on Saturdays and then it's nothing out of the ordinary to get a 3+ hour one in on Sunday.

No worries about our 8/9 game. The Yum crowd will be 90% UK (unless IU comes to town). But they shouldn't get preferential pod treatment. Just can't see us losing to a team in Louisville
