Thanks, Geese. Really wish we could've played some 3 on 3 against you and the Transy crew. He was nails from the elbow.

Pretty sure the first black guy (Pink) in our chapter's history was also during my time there.

Yep. Some of the alums (and a few actives) were not fans of that happening. I remember one alumni telling me it was bound to happen since we'd been taking Catholics and Hebrews for years.

I'm sure that was the case, but it was a unanimous vote as I recall among those in attendance that night.

Actually, there was a big race issue with my chapter after I left. A black member dressed up as a Klansman and white member in black face, went t a party. They had to apologize and people moved on. They all thought it was funny and in their immature minds it was, but there wasn't any 'message' hidden other than to mock their own differences. Think it was a Clayton Bigsby reference.

Now an OU FB commit decommitted due to video, that's ridiculous.

Yeah . . .um . . . congrats on your tokens, guys. The fact that you all are pointing it out is . . . lame. You want a cookie or something?

Expulsion seems a bit much, but we are a culture of over-reaction, so we'll see. Double standard for sure. Morons though, so I don't really GAF.

There will be no porch lights for Parker.

Pretty stupid what those kids did. Did they ever say who filmed and posted the video?

Getting their chapter closed-Nationals wanted to send a message. Guess setting pledges on fire not as bad as being racist.

Expelled from college-seems a bit extreme. Wonder if they'll try to play the freedom of speech card to get back in.

Parker Rice...good luck with that.

White middle-upper class kids away at college have to be the dumbest sect of human beings in America for going on 90+ years now. It's like your IQ loses 50 points the minute you're dropped off on campus and you can pick it back up when you get your degree 4-5 years later.

You'd have to assume one of their dates. Doesn't really matter which. Good for her.

C'mon man. Kids do stupid crap in college, especially when they're drunk. 10 of these guys were likely involved, but now 100 have their reputations tarnished.

Wait, did Apple really announce they're selling a $17,000.00 watch or was that an Onion/ClickHole article I saw and got faked out like an old?

The stupidity in the decision making process at that age and some people's rationalization was amazing. We weren't dealing with the sharpest tools in the shed to start with since the school was about as difficult to get into as KCTCS. Thank god camera phones and **** hadn't gotten started when I was running the joint. Hell, convincing some of those guys to allow a half-Mex kid in was difficult enough, and we were considered the one of the most 'liberal' groups on campus.

* On that note, Parker should definitely be getting the boot...

* Air Disasters on Nat Geo = must watch TV for me

* Drew has been our most consistent player for a while now. That stretch at Arky was just violent. Going straight at people and actually finishing at the rim.

* Kind of bummed about the no spring game deal... had kind of started to look forward that each year since Stoops has been here. Nice distraction from the pressure of the March/April run.

- Is that Jeff D?

- If you wouldn't have told me the college, I would've had Ole Miss favored bigtime on that one. Oklahoma is like the racist Cinderella.

- Andrew's outside shot, too. How is that guy not a fringe 1st rounder at 6'6"?

good grief. They expelled Parker from ou. They didn't throw him san Quentin and play that vine on a loop for all the inmates. His life is ruined because he's a stupid racist ***** and sang a song in public that would make Donald sterling cringe, not because he can't graduate from Oklahoma damn university. Like I said, f that guy.

Interesting that they stole the rhythm from " if you're happy and you know it" for a hate song.

Not really comfortable with a state school kicking a kid out for speech. Complete and utter idiot racist who needs to be dealt with in other ways, but kicking someone out of a university for simply saying something, anything, is not really a good outcome IMO

I'm very comfortable with it.

This kid is an idiot and having him effectively removed from any influential role in society by irreparable Google-marring for the rest of his life is a just punishment.

I don't know anything about "Greek Life" but I always assumed SAE was the "rich one" based on their house at UK. If that's the case, society dodged a bullet with this kid being taken out of our midst and he'll still be fine.

They won't expel anyone they can't prove was doing the chant. As for reps ruined, pretty clear that was a frat wide song they all knew. So not a lot of sympathy from me.

That kid would never want to have his face seen on campus again...

So really, they're doing him a favor.

The Google-marring is 100% OK with me and I would be fine if people took it upon themselves to proactively contact people he will/might associate with and let them know what special brand of moron he is.

Different from being expelled from school, though. I don't think being expelled is too harsh, per se. Just that it's a school policing something (speech) that they shouldn't.

As a flagship, I think they should be able to kick anyone out for any reason they want.

They are supposed to be the model for the ideals of their state's society and they should uphold those values to the nth.

Kids an idiot no doubt. People do make mistakes. Being a racist in these days will not fly, that is a fact...Parker better learn quick.

Still think the punishment should fit the crime though. He said something stupid. It's not like he raped or murdered anybody. Being kicked out of the fraternity, he's an embarrassment, that's a no brainer. The Google-marring he's earned.

That being said, he should seek greener pastures. Would not stay at that school even if they didn't kick him out.

Crazy that OU football de commit over this, maybe Mark can profit from Bobs loss.

What if they chanted something anti-Semitic, or anti-Islamic? Would they have been expelled for that?

Obviously racial tensions are high right now. I think it's understandable why the university reacted the way they did. Or maybe over reacted...

What else can you say that will get you kicked out of school these days? Will be interested to see how this plays out.

Boat - not a lawyer so someone can stop me if I'm wrong but imo if he raped or murdered someone he'd probably go to prison. Not be forced to enroll at Texas or Oklahoma state.

Oh, he just made a stupid mistake and got caught. Punishment doesn't fit the crime.

Like he's a citizen of THE Republic of Ohio State University and not just a damn student attending a school.

The other funny/sick thing is how media/chapter act like this is OMG how awful we never imagined!!! like these rogue kids freestyled this hate song.

Gonzaga is as soft as Charmin and couldn't guard 5 statues.

Basketball out there is just different. Players are mostly all finesse compared to
the best players from the east coast and Midwest.

-I'm extremely comfortable with a school kicking him out. See Joey's comments. If you can't tell the difference I'm not sure what to tell you. Also comfortable with the chapter being removed. In fact I think the whole thing was handled well by OU. If I was an OU alum I'd be ready to kick that kids ***.
