-Looks like Anth has the parenting thing under control and everything is smooth sailing from here. Shew... I couldn't have been more wrong about those suckers, I guess. Kudos.

-Really can't downplay the upside of a home night game in September. Just driving my anxiousness even more.

Two of those bastards in the first few weeks of the season will be a baptism by fire. Oh, ready for a breather? Touch you. Missouri and EKU are in town. Ready for an easy weekend with this open week? Touch you. Keeneland's open. Need to focus at work? Touch you. Thursday night game with top 5 Auburn. Haven't seen your son play his pseudo-contact-sport-in-lieu-of-football yet? TOUCH YOU ALL IN.

Rest up, folks.

-So apparently Bonnofan over Towles is an afterthought? According to local media it is... and those guys get it. Not sure about that, though. All of Towles stats are better, and give me his experience leadership all/air.

-Anybody mess with LaCroix? Lass steady keeps them in our fridge. I'm trying to like them (OMFG DIET COKE IS TERRIBLE FOR YOU), but I'm struggling with it. They're not awful, but straight carbonation with a hint of a fruit just isn't all that palatable. Mostly sticking to ice water or 2.0% these days.

-The white helmets with chrome lettering can GTFO. Not a fan. Redneck as hell imo.

-Almond butter can also GTFO. JIF creamy or kill yourself.

By the way, shocks me that PTI has more of a grip on the PGA Tour than all of you self-important Golfballs. He was all over Tiger/Phil. Give the dude his props.

Looking at the football schedule. Last year, the UofL game set up perfectly for us. We were off the week before, and they played Notre Dame.

This year...

Kentucky
11/14: at Vandy

11/21: Charlotte

11/28: Louisville

Louisville
11/14: Virginia

11/21: at Pitt

11/28: at UK

Doesn't set up as well as last year, but we still have the advantage. I don't think we'll need to win that game to get to a bowl (we should have 6 by then), but if we do... shew.

How dangerous to humans are coyotes? Lass just saw one right by my place last night.

If it has Rabies, you might have a problem. Things used to follow me when I'd run at night in Phoenix. Never got too close. Have seen them jump a 6ft fence and eat little dogs though.

For those of you that hate the hot sticky summer, get a boat or a pool. Winter got you down? Get a hot tub. Problem solved.

Knew this prevailing group-think would pop up before the season started. Let 'em jerk themselves off silly with it, don't bother trying to counter with facts and logic. Anyone with eyes who watches football games this season will know. I think Towles will be excellent this season, Dawson will give him the position coaching he did not get from Brown. The big debate later this season won't be who has the better starting QB, it will be has Towles improved enough to leave early.

Hell I don't think Bonnafon will even be their best qb/starting qb by October 1st. Bobby P has like 7 scholarship QB's and going to sign 2 more in '16 for a reason; it ain't because Reggie has the job locked down for the next 3 yrs.

^No, he doesn't. Like I've been yelling for months. Anytime you take the under in career majors you're probably going to win. He had no idea Tiger was going to do this. Phil is still competing pretty damn well. Stick to ****** weather.

-Don't think I have parenting down at all. Still scared shitless. With us, I knew it would drive the opposite of gaining weight. Don't have issues when we're home. It's the vacations, 4-5 days of booze and ****** food that add up. When we're home its chicken and veggies, fish and veggies, lean beef and veggies. Knew as soon as WS had that kid she'd be right on the health kick again. To her credit I never once ran for a nasty cheat meal. Just not how we roll. Sorry it's different for you.

I smoke when I'm drinking somewhere without my wife & when golfing...and with Jerry. I go weeks at a time without if those opportunities don't present themselves with no problem...stupid rationalization, but whatever. Imagine I'll quit doing that at some point sooner than later as well. Need to.

-Was scared to death of Coyotes as a kid. Stepdad pretty much had us convinced they all had the rabies.

It's an egregiously bad take. Actually heard it on 680 yesterday afternoon, which really isn't a terrible show. Jason Anderson and Andy Sweeney aren't complete Louisville homers... yet.

Not worried about George in the least bit because of Sloot- the most responsible 30-something I know. Anth's a wildcard, but at least G has Sloot.

I thought they were pulling Bonafon regularly last season. Is he even going to play? Towles has a great opportunity this season but man Petrino just has magic with f*cking ****** QB's.

Also, if I'm going to break and drink a soft drink then it's going to be the real thing. Ale-8 or Coke. Why waste your time on anything else?

We beat UL by 21 if Bonnofan does not get hurt. We had a great game plan for him. Then that ****** Lexington kid comes in and torches us. ****

Knew as soon as Bonnafon went down exactly what was going to happen. Things had been going too well up to that point.

Lol. Phil won a major in 2013. Tiger was POY that same year.

He isn't 'all over' anything. Tiger isn't done, and not even HE predicted this type of weirdness with that guy. I feel the same about my bet as I ever have...both of those guys will compete in majors for the next decade.

-The heat isn't my least favorite part about summer...agree with Chad that it gets pretty boring by mid-July. I like having fun things to look forward to (UK Games) every week...after a few months, golf/grilling out/etc has run its course for the most part. Summer routine becomes quite monotonous by then for me.

-At this point, Diet Coke just tastes better. TS. Way more crispy. When I accidentally drink a regular coke, it tastes like syrup.

Carbonated Water is [sick].

I'll give PTI credit for one thing, his YEARS of trolling are probably worth the $100 he will eventually lose to us. It may take a total of 10-20 years for Tiger and Phil to eclipse his shallow mark of (2?) more Majors, but it will happen unless they retire. But PTI is getting years and years of trolling out of it while waiting for it to happen.

I like LaCroix, but I get tired of hauling it and always end up going back to our Soda Stream.

Plus, you can really chase the dragon of over-carbonation with a Soda Stream like no other. We're talking the difference between regular Gold Fish and Flavor Blasted ®. There is no going back.

Squirt some lime and/or lemon juice in there and you're set.

We've actually had some pretty dope Augusts recently iirc. Humidity has been down. Lots of sun. Cool evenings.

Been considering a bump up my month power rankings, honestly.

- Really enjoy early fall in September when it's warm but the humidity has gone away and we have cooler nights.

Early October is good but once we get to the end of October the death march that is November through March is looming. Uggggh.

- Think Towles is ready for a breakout season like Woodson had in his Junior year in 06. Towles was inconsistent last year for sure but it was his first full year starting and his best playmakers were all true freshman playing in the SEC. They all just hit a wall after the Miss St loss.

This receiving corp could be very dope. You've got a little bit of everything in Johnson, Bone, Baker, Simmons, Montgomery and Badet. Not to mention Snodgrass was supposed to be the best of the bunch coming out of high school.

Think Dawson is going to be much more aggressive than Brown. Different philosophy. He also has the luxury of having much better talent & experience.

Really want Hatcher to have a big year. Kid could've gone anywhere in the country. Love seeing bros from Louisville do well at UK.

Watched some of AJ Stamps highlights from last year. That dude is a badass.

Think you'll see this more this year than the first two years with Stoops is that the team/program will start to take on the personality of their head coach. Very physical and a bunch of fighters. We had that under Coach Brooks. Not always the most talented in the SEC but they were one of the most physical teams in 06 & 07. The way we came out swinging against UL at the end of last season gave me hope.

Eli forecast is looking pretty good. 0% chance of rain, currently, and highs of 91. Sure as hell beats 100+ which is often the case.

The lass is on this La Croix kick. Tried it a few times. Not bad but I don't like carbonated drinks.

Thought about using it as a mixer for cocktail.

That first year was just brutal. That's also when we would stay up until 3-4a each night.

I will say, if it was 100 degrees like it is out in Western KY I probably would like Spring and Fall more. Lex and Cincy really get it pretty nice. We're always 3-4 degrees cooler than Louisville. We typically get less than 20 days per year >=90 in this area. Not like its always here.

Anything under 140 or so Heat Index is pretty wodie for Eli Weekend. A few of those suckers have been among the hottest days of my life, right there with that one Papa Johns Game back in the day.

-The Gin talk inspired me...bought a bottle Sunday. Marinating w/ a few Habaneros from the BIL's garden. Diet Tonic + Homemade Sour Mix (lime, lemon, little stevia extract) , makeshift #BombayHeat this evening w/ some grilling.

$20 for Slaying the Tiger? I'm not cheap but that's silly. Don't know that I've ever paid more than $10-12 for a book.

Gary Danielson isnt exactly Billy Joe Wildcat sr.....and while watching Patrick Towles put up huge numbers and make big plays against then #1 Miss St he compared him to Ben Roethlisburger. And now he has had the benefit of an actual college quarterback coach, hopefully a better O line (pretty worried about Swindle at LT tho), definitely a better receiving corp to toss it at.

We are gonna score a bunch of points this year. And probably have too, without Z & Bud the D will give up even more than 2014.

Anderson on 680 is usually somewhat fair & objective. Seems like a likeable fella.

Valvano had Stillman on last week and that fatso said UL had the QB advantage with Bonafon over Auburn in the opener. Laughable. Auburn's QB, Brandon Johnson, is 6'5", runs a 4.5 40 and has cannon. He's supposed to be very similar to Cam Newton and he's one of the main reasons Auburn in the preseason SEC favorite.
