Watched the 11:00 news last night for about 10 minutes. Murder, rape, prostitution.

Then saw where local teens are fighting each other at the fair and posting the videos on instagram. Basically treating it like a fight club. Kids just beating the **** out of each other for entertainment...

Good stuff, America.

For those of you on the fence about watching the video, it is disturbing. No doubt about that.

It's not gory though. There's no blood. Pretty sure he missed his first few shots and then he drops the camera and gives chase.

I don't think he missed. I mean, I'm not sure how he could have. It looked to me like he got her once or twice and then she took off running after that, which is when he fires again and then the video cuts out. Adrenaline in a situation like that can make someone not "feel" being shot for a few seconds.

I guess I'm used to seeing the by products of terrible things, curiosity of wanting to know what actually happened.

I think he missed the first shot, but got her as she turned and ran.

Agree, but............how many millions of taxpayer money is going to be spent on keeping him alive and potentially incarcerated?

I mean, I get when it's necessary and appropriate- especially when law enforcement is issuing a statement. But when the dude sends in a faxed manifesto, tapes himself, is on another video recording committing the crime, then flees and attempts suicide after tweeting his motive... I guess all of that could have been the work of an internet imposter but that seems a stretch.

The worst part of that video (I mean, if I were splitting hairs) is when you hear the cameraman screams out "OH MY (and what sounds like is going to be 'God')", then bang..... Then you don't hear anything from him again.

Heartbreaking.

Never Here Randoms:

~Sad summer is over with the kids, but life is much more structured and easier on mom & dad’s life. Plus now that baseball is ALMOST over for the boys we will actually have some weekends to do other stuff. Thank god!

~ Spent 3 days out in KC last week seeing family for my grandfather’s funeral services. He lived 94 amazing years and had a lot to show for it, but no matter when you lose someone it is always so tough to see a loved one pass.

~ Grew up my whole life in Louisville, but KC has always been kind of my 2nd home. Spent at least 1 or 2 weeks a summer there every summer as a kid and have a lot of great memories with my family. Those trips helped me to become a Royals & Chiefs fan. Love that!

~Just by dumb luck we already had the Royals/Reds game planned for the Tuesday before I left for KC and took all 3 kids up the game. My grandfather was definitely looking down as my kids got 6 balls at the game, 2 each. Crazy really. Plus the Royals won in 13!

~Still can’t believe how much appears to be unfinished and not wrapped up around the stadium. Drove by the stadium yesterday and even the blue lot and surrounding areas have stuff everywhere that has to be moved/cleaned up. Suppose to take a tour Friday, we’ll see what it looks like.

~Super stoked for football! I’ve talked with the coaches a few times this summer and they definitely have a different confidence about them and the team. Players are going to need to step up and make plays if they want 6 or 7 wins. It’s definitely doable.

~I wonder how it’s going to be sitting with Boat this year at football games? What’s the O/U on how many times he mentions he was homecoming king during all the games during the season? 15?

~ Looks like this first year I won’t be doing the Champions Classic for basketball. Not sure why, but it almost feels played out & not sure if I want to hit up the United Center for another game. I know it’s Duke, but @UCLA & @KU are my only must attend games this year.

~Congrats again 80! Good seeing you the other day. We need to do a GYERO lunch sometime soon. Haven’t done that in a while. Anthony’s buying!
