Oculus Rift and 360 videos seem like a great way to give me motion sickness in the comfort of my own home.

You would never guess it, but it turns out that the actual geniuses working on developing Oculus Rift have taken motion sickness into account. The tech is pretty close to negating it completely.

I'm not sure about the rest of Joeys recommendations, but I can tell you SlingTV sucks. I never missed a uk game or basically any other game because of my WatchESPN app, but when it came to "regular" channels like hgtv or amc it was total trash. Would freeze, lose signal, or just sit there blankly not doing a damn thing. Actual cable/dish ftw.

Bought an Amazon fire stick last week.

Streaming sports on a tv sucks. Feed is a little off. Everything seems like it's in fast forward a little. Not nearly as clear as my UVerse HD picture. Not as smooth of a process to switch to another game like it is on cable.

Do enjoy NETFLIX & firing up YouTube on the tv though.

We get a pretty good picture from apple TV, especially compared to plugging the laptop in with an HDMI cord on the other tv

Auburn's arena is rockin. God I love Bruce Pearl.

-Giordano's >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lou.

-Just remembered why I don't mind missing the Chicago Game -----> The Ogden.

I'm all for BBN takeover, but that place is flat out MISERABLE in that situation. If it weren't for the Beans getting there 8 hours early and securing a "spot" (if you can call it that), I wouldn't ever set foot in that place again. :100points: Still may not.

-Watching on TV through Apple/ESPN App isn't even CLOSE to the same experience, quality wise. If you say it is, you're just delusional, desperate, and lying. It works in an emergency, but is awful. Makes me dizzy.

Not sure I'm trying to impress anyone, chief. But hey, you probably think people performing basic grown-up activities are rubbing it in or showing off, so I can see your confusion.

For now, and I stress now, it's just much easier and better to have regular subscription dish/cable. Not even close.

I haven't seen the ambulance full of bombs report yet. Where are you seeing that?

I demo'd an Oculus Rift about a year ago. Was a driving game. At that time, they certainly had not solved the motion sickness thing, as I definitely felt it. But, as you say, it's a top priority for OR. VR gonna be huge. Eventually you'll be able to watch a UK/NBA game on a VR headset from the POV of a courtside seat. Probably 7-8 years away.

My buddy reviews computer hardware and has a set that I've checked out. It didn't bother me too much but it was still pretty bad for him. He told me the technical "thresholds" they were trying to hit to achieve imperceptible latency, but I can't remember what they are - I just know that they are working towards them.

I think it will be interesting to see where and how "communal" screens will persist in our physical environment once we have ubiquitous "personal" immersive screens at our disposal - either of which I will still refuse to pay to view bundled cable channels on, goddammit.

Ogden better set up so far. No seats at bar, should improve gridlock. Beans posted up with tables around noon. U.K. With good showing so far, then Duke, then Kansas, not so much state.

Richie, upgrade your modem and router. Streaming problems solved. Night and day. My nighthawk pumps out around 60/Mbs and I'm only paying for 50.

No seats at bar, .

Such an easy solution, nothing worse than a crowded bar/party situation that has only ONE bar, and is lined with seats. Even if you HAVE a seat, you spend your entire time taking orders for people, people leaning over/on you begging for service, etc. Awful.

Take them out when appropriate.

Lol, God bless the Beans tho. In a great city, and spend the entire day at a sports bar holding seats for people to enjoy for 2 hours.
