They've beaten USC, Notre Dame, and UCLA already this season.

King Rice will be a hot name...

Someone will be replacing Roy Williams sooner than later IMO. Those quotes about modern recruiting from ACC Media Days were telling. He has no desire to change with the times. I bet he's on the golf course full time before this decade's out. It's not like he's gonna catch Coach K for any significant records at this point.

I don't know if Rice can make that leap, but if he can stop off somewhere in between then he can make that leap in 3-4 years after 2-3 years at a lower tier Power Five or AAC/C-USA program.

I absolutely agree and I am just getting a little hyperbolic about the entire situation.

I think that Towles was clearly the best option this year and Stoops showed very poor leadership by his handling of the situation. UK would be much better off by having both those kids on the roster next year and it looks, from the outside, that we just ran Towles off for no reason.

I am sure it is not as simple as it seems but if I had to bet on who will be the better QB in 2016, I will bet heavily on Towles.

But, frankly, this is a side point. Stoops seems to have no control of this program and that is the most alarming thing.

Apparently the only bowl we're in the running for is some ****** one on December 26 that conflicts with the Louisville game and we will turn it down.

Maybe, but turning it down because these kids don't deserve it and need to earn it is exactly what these entitled little bitches deserve!

I don't know how a coach who has no control gets it back, but hiring some f'n football people in here that know WTF to do would be a great start. If coach doesn't do that he can save all his redass BS on the sidelines.

The last thing I want is this staff getting extra time "coaching" these pussies. Besides, NO 5-7 team should go to a bowl. It's ridiculous and embarrassing. I'd be even more ashamed than I already am if we accepted a bid.

You can't turn down the NIT after the NCAA bought it. We would lose money going to a bowl game.

Smh. Some of you fools. We're f*cking Kentucky. We're are not, nor should we, turning down a bowl regardless of the situation. Can't believe this is even a discussion... on many levels.

"Hey Cal, sorry you all sucked this year but you gotta go up to Robert Morris and play in a junior high gym even thought it'll be painfully obvious to a national audience you don't want to be there. K thx."

"Coach Stoops we agree that accepting a bowl bid at 5-7 is below our dignity. Of course you can take the rest of the year off. Have another extension!"

Seems legit.

I mean, Towles announces his transfer the day after the season is over. So I'm guessing this was in the works for a while. And it's indicative of a f***ed up locker room, IMO. Why should we believe it'll be better next year?

Reports of Stoops being smashed at Tony's the night before the UT game have me a bit concerned.

I'm not at all saying we're too good to turn down a bowl game. But the first time Stoops, Dawson, or even Mitch answers a question about Stoops' job security or the direction of the program with a condescending tone saying "I don't know what some people expect. We went to a bowl game in year three..." you're going to start vomiting and not know how to stop.

I'm not advocating going to a bowl. There will be some 5-7 teams though, all equally undeserving.

As far as losing money, yes, perhaps some. But our take from SEC bowl season will be a big haul. So it's more along the lines of us not making as much money, rather than losing money.

That's been going around for a month. The version I heard was that it was the team hotel. Although, I suppose he would have had to have eaten that night as well.

Other rumors:

Makes lots of trips to the gambling boats during the week. Sometimes loses his ***.

Having an affair with a local dentist.

Is a compulsive liar.

In over his head.

You never hear any of this **** about winning coaches, so I always take it with a huge grain of salt. If he were 7-5 he'd be seen at church and feeding the homeless. Of course all the stuff about Gillispie ended up being true, so who really knows. Probably more along the lines of people protecting winning coaches and embellishing losing ones.

Pretty much just had the same conversation with my pops. As a 5th year senior, and a KY kid, wtf is going on in there that he says **** it, I'm out.

Remember Lane Kiffin was banging Saban's daughter the week after they lost to Ole Miss. Now that they're one win away from the college football playoffs, he seems to be keeping it in his pants.

If he knows he isn't paying next year why not go get a degree at Duke and play? Makes no sense to stick around here. Get off the boat before it goes down. Triple win. Great move.

Stoops was there over the summer a bunch but I don't know about before UT. Coolcat nailed the rumors. Exact same rumors you heard about Joker.

After some of the **** I've been reading, I'm not terribly inclined to give another dime to this football program. Things appear to be fundamentally broken.

And good luck to Towles. If he's salvageable, Cutcliffe could figure it out. It just wasn't going to work for him here.
Here's the thing- you can be a big fan for pretty cheap nowadays. Every game is on tv. It's ok.

towles also may win a conference division championship, as duke did last season. as opposed to, ya know, playing with and for this group of goofballs.
