-Wow. We overcame a lot today. Day of Christmas party and listening to game on the radio. Both typically are bad news.

-f*cking unc. That one stung the old account balance.

-skal is not only headtouched he's pressing now. Cal touched on it post game. To say he's not talented is ridiculous. We saw a glimpse of his offensive game and it's the best touch of any big we've had. I know one thing, dude isn't paying vs UL.

Cal also mentioned Murray and Ulis at least acting like they're going to shoot when catching it rather than head down and drive. Along with the PG moving the ball quickly at the beginning to get the ddmo started. Ulis may have a little of last year in him to work out.

He's actually being pretty candid this year.

Have been to many games at Rupp, can't say I've ever seen such an animated Cal. Skal better get used to S&M.

That dunk by Alex was so nasty. Was like in slow motion when he grabbed the ball. Just new he was gonna kill someone.

Nice seeing Kgar, champagne Tom and the Beans yesterday. New Hyatt looks nice. Missed all the other Superfans.

What is the respectable amount of time for a work Christmas party, 2-3 hours?

Got home in time to watch the 2nd half of the KU game. I know it was just Oregon St. But I think Self has a team full of guys that suits his style of play. The 3 out - 2 in looked pretty good. Diallo gives them just enough in the paint to open up their guards. That will be a tough team to beat in March.

Also caught UCLA for a half before I crashed on the couch. That's a top 15 team. Good guards and their bigs are as serviceable as anyone else's in the country. Solid squad.

Wtf is up with Gonzaga? They have top 5 talent on that team, top 10 at worst.

CBB is definitely wide open...Kansas, as I've said all along, should be the clear favorite by year end.

-Why TF isn't Bengals/Steelers on in Louisville? The one game so far this year I actually was planning on watching.

Who cares. Nothing matters. Sports are meaningless distractions. We're all going to die anyway.

Max I think you need to take a little vacation. Stop letting your insides get twisted by sports, especially ones as terrible as UK football and the Bengals.

Wake up to the sweet salty air of the ocean. Look at the wonders of plastic surgery and yoga while sipping collides under a palm tree instead of watching dropped passes and 8 men on the field.

A balcony jacuzzi for two will help you forget about it all. Bubbles and clothing optional.

Woooo-Ssaaaaaaasaa

-If you actually watched LSU this year you could see this coming. They're damn lucky to have that win over North Florida. Not a very good team and a tremendously incompetent coach. Margin for error is getting small.

-May have to retire from Gambol. Beat down again. F*cking UNC.

-Couple of movie recs if you're into RomCom at all.
*2 Night Stand - Not great but has been showing on HBO. I enjoyed it and Analeigh Tipton is weirdly attractive.
*The One I Love - Don't read any reviews or stories if you're going to watch it'll ruin the movie. Just watch it. RomCom with some SciFi mixed in. Elisabeth Moss(Peggy from Mad Men). If you've seen Safety not Guaranteed, similar to that I guess.

-Company Christmas party was actually pretty great this year. Over at Horseshoe, big crowd, great spread. Really enjoyed it.

-Not counting on it lasting but little dude sleeping 8 hours recently. [banana]

-I HATE HATE HATE winter but 2 week leading up to Christmas plus NYC and I want a little weather to accompany. After Xmas, I could take 85+ every day of the year.

Along the same lines, how's California looking for that Final 4 run Gottlieb? [eyeroll] Aside from LSU being LSU, them struggling with all that talent was the lock of the year.

-[laughing] at Poythress' dunk, I knew as soon as he caught that ball 40 feet away that was happening. He & his little 2-foot jump crack me up...honestly wonder if he could dunk off 2 feet from the FT line? Bet he could come close, can seemingly glide as far as he needs to.

-Went 3-3 yesterday for a +$350 day, after getting hammered on Saturday. Finished up $1042 for the week. [cheers]

-Finished Master of None, love it. What a short series though...feel like you can watch the entire thing in 3 hours.

-2 days til NYC...when's everyone leaving, where you staying? Fly out Wednesday at 3, come home Sunday afternoon. Can't wait. Staying at The Roosevelt in Midtown.

-Year is pretty much done at this point, which is always a nice feeling. Agency Manager takes off from the 20th through New Year's every year...something I have no desire to do. Pretty much just help cover the office and collect free business, nice little deal we've worked out over the years.

Had a work issue come up so I missed the entire second half on Saturday. Last *update* I had was that Poythress was in the locker room with a "knee injury." Was surprised later on when I checked the score. Sounds like, per Twitter, everyone but Skal played better. Actually thought Mulder was fine in the minutes he gave in the 1st.

Trying to buy a house in another city, when only one of us has secured work... pretty big headache to be honest. Driving 4 hours round trip to look at a couple of houses is the best way to spend a weeknight! We dont work with real estate agents because ZILLOW, but im thinking I may end up calling someone to help me out this time.

Make it through this week and then Jamaica again for Christmas. Same all inclusive deal- no excursions this time. May play golf- but aside from that I'm sticking around the resort. Come home and then head to Gatlinburg for NYE with 3 other couples. Gatlinburg is obviously super kitchy- but I embrace it. Never had a bad trip there. Best part is not having to "go out" for NYE.

We make it through Ohio State and Louisville without dropping either, and that o/u bet of 5.5 losses becomes more interesting, merely because our conference is pathetic.

Honestly couldn't tell you what Cal looks like because I haven't seen even one of their games listed and I've watched a lot of CBB this year. What a dumbasss decision. I've seen LSU, Monmouth, Directional Florida, Wichita, UNLV, SMU, Bama all more than once. Not even a glimpse of Cal or Miss State for that matter. To be honest I'd forgotten about both.

Welp, went to my last Bengals game for awhile yesterday. Don't need to recount the game but what a kick in the balls. Touching #1 seed, chance to knock out rival, and that happens. Not even as upset about losing the game obviously, just the feeling of sitting in the stadium with 60,000 other people all of us refreshing our phones, passing along updates from people watching the game at home, getting new news about each injury- Dalton's obviously the killer. Even tailgating the sense was overwhelming: "yeah, would like to win, but rest guys that are banged up so we're healthy going into the playoffs" and then THAT. lol nope.

McCarron looked OK. That pick six was as much on the WR as it was on his bad throw. He made some good throws considering he hadn't practiced with the first team since camp or the bye week. His wife is hot. His chest tattoo tells me he likes Code Red. He made the Brady comparison after the game. I dunno. Maybe it'll work out. But still... haven't been this depressed since last Easter.

I wanted that Mulder shot to go in as bad as any all year....oh well.

He didn't look panicked, got a few offensive boards, and had a deflection or two that led to possessions as well...all in a short span.

He's never going to be a true rotation player, but just a 3 or two in a few games could prove big at some point with this team.

Willis is immediately better w/ the buzzed head, btw.

-Yeah, Malik Newman barely even exists. So weird. For a guy who was about his "Brand" more than any other player (and it wasn't close) in the class...smart decision.

...and not sure I've seen even a Jaylen Brown highlight

I am so annoyed by Hue Jackson's sillyass playcalling. A shovel pass at the 4 yardline- WTF?

It's the Bengals. One more kick to the balls.

-So, who all is headed to NYC this weekend? Besides Anth and bbdpizza? I'm not even in town until Saturday. Doing an early Xmas at the wife's fam in Denver, but got special permission to fly home solo Saturday morning for the game. Haven't even looked at tix yet, seems like they are easy to scoop up at these things.

-Had the new puppy for about 10 days. Waaaaaay smaller than I prefer, but I already like it more than all but about 5 humans I know. The wife, however, has completely lost her mind. I think we could keep Amazon in business by ourselves with all the dog stuff we've (she) have bought the last month. Good lord.

-Speaking of Amazon, you can have all your airline reward card, but the Amazon Prime Store card is the ****. Only eligible to Prime members, you get 5% back (in Amazon statement credit) on anything you purchase on Amazon. So if you spend $2k a year (which I do easily with new dog) , it pays for itself. No brainer.

Love the Bengals. This is their time.

What's the one gift that Hen's are *really* squawking for this holiday season? I think they all have kitchen aid's now. Probably not interested in YETI. Help?

Place will be pretty empty. For the Providence game there, we scooped up Rafter seats, then proceeded to sit wherever we want, which we will be doing again -- and Providence actually had some fans there.

Got any new Village recs? Wife and I talked about it, and decided we're going to go ahead and eat Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner every day while up there. And drink a bunch, too.
