Late but I'd add Scott Padgett or Heshimu Evans to the list of wants on this team. The BCG era is empty for me but Id take Dodson on this team too.

Controversial but UK/OSU wasn't really a good game other than it showed that even as an underdog UK was back to being a force! Actually that UNC game a week later was a lot better.

-Really getting into a rhythm at sales, and I've heard it said before but confidence goes along way when selling something. Most of the time if someone chooses to buy from you its you that they are buying.......hard to not get cocky after a little success.

- not enough niceness around here! Wonder what a nice day in GYERO would consist of.

Why so? I mean I'm not considering rocking out some salmon colored shorts by any means but success in the work place is clearly one of the easier things to get cocky about.

Maybe you should get back to explaining how this UK team is better than this Iowa State team......you seem to really be good at that.

Dodson was garbage and would be awful on any team. 3 point specialist who never hit a big 3.

UK played OSU and UNC two days apart. Probably the best back to back UK tourney games (non final four) in recent history. Until WSU-UL in 2014.

The UK/OSU game wasnt in the same category as the Wichita State game. The Brandon Knight team basically ran a high ball screen off Harrelson and that was the offense. They rebounded well and got after it on defense though... but even winning- it wasnt pretty basketball.

Yes, Wichita was the best game.

OSU the most fun. Not even close.

IU the most part game **** talking in history.

I guess UL in 14 had a little post game **** talking. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Lol, a tad.

And ice.

..and the main key to "most fun" is being a S16 or National Semifinal, -- or at least having a chance to celebrate for a full night w/ #BBN

...otherwise you're just getting directly on a plane or hopping in a car for a long *** ride most of the time.

(a few exceptions, obviously)

Some POS 20-something UofL fan was 2-3 rows behind us that game talking the usual tired **** the whole game. Never shut up. Bothering everyone in our section. He got really quiet at the end though, so I turned around and waved bye at him and wished him well on his way home. He did not appreciate that. Pretended like he wanted to come down to my row and fight me, but weirdly there were no obstacles in his path, he just couldn't seem to find his way down there.

Eh. This one dumbass kid wasn't about to come down there and try to fight me. It was enough for me that the Cats ruined his weekend and I managed to piss him off.

The postgame scene in Indy the night we beat UL in the Sweet 16.. The best non Elite 8/Final Four/Title celebration ever possible.

Those ******** had been tap dancing on Cal's grave for 2 seasons straight (even though we did actually beat them in Dec of that season it was if that never happened) and here we come ending their "mini dynasty. " And to make matters worse they had to go to bed knowing their best run since Crum's heyday was sandwiched by 2 tourney losses to Big Brother. Beautiful stuff.

The look on their faces leaving Lucas Oil was more than that of losing to your heated rival. It was a widespread look of total devastation that their biggest fear had become cold reality. The evil empire was fng back and had just officially ended one of their most beloved runs in program history.

Harmon went and watched the Gabriel kid on Saturday night. Came away unimpressed. Said he didn't really do much until the end when he made a bunch of FT's. Basically the typical raw, 6'10" athlete with a skinny frame who thinks he's the next KG or Durant and took a bunch of jump shots.

Five minutes later I'm in the truck listening to Glover and he has Ben Roberts on and they're both gushing over the kid saying everyone was so impressed with him. [laughing]

No offense, but I'll go with my boy on this one. The local homers were losing their mind over all the Gillispie recruits as well. I'm sure the kid will be a good player here, but he will probably be frustrating as hell in spite of the fact that he will no doubt put on the mythical 20 pounds of muscle over the summer before he arrives.

Not to mention the fact they dominated the game (and crowd) and we had no business winning...:flushed:

Still have no clue how we won that game, but we did -- and it was unreal. :fire::100points:

-No offense, but you and Harmon are idiots. Gabriel has been blowing up ALL YEAR, and basically wows all coaches, scouts, media, alike...pretty much every event he's in -- and just got named to the 10 man USA Nike Hoop Summit squad (kinda like Gillespie's guys?). Lol.

Probably should stick with WWE & UK Hoops/Mitchell.

Aside from all of the post game trash talking/celebration that night in Indy, my finest moment was booing Kentucky Joe (or whatever the hell his name was) off the stage at Tin Roof. I like to remember it as my "slow clap started in a crowded room" virtuoso.

Did you act all shaky and nervous like every time we see you, or did you do that cocky wave and walk off you do at games?

One cool thing that happened in that Indiana game: For the first 7 minutes of that game, they called all of the fouls. And there were so many fouls. So for the rest of that half, both teams were scared to death to play defense. So while it did suck that Wiltjer and Vargas played extended minutes together at the end of that half, it was better than the alternative of one of Davis/Jones/MKG getting their third foul.

Would like to believe that the Kentucky vs. Indiana 1st half is what the rules folks had in mind when they instituted the freedom of movement rules. Of course that dream's as good as dead this season after Louisville vs. MSU. Did any of you guys catch any of Kansas vs. Oregon State on Saturday? That was basically a 5 on 5 WWE match.

I'm always nervous for on-location UK games for various reasons. One big reason is never knowing who I'm going to run into in that venue. Former players, teachers, cheerleading sponsors, other coaches, current students, you never know.

But I was very loose after that one, I assure you. Lordy mercy.

BKH, thanks for that post. For the first time ever, I took vacation for opening weekend. I tuned into that game with zero expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Watched the UL game and Michigan game in person. ********. Everybody wants to ***** about not getting banners... blah blah blah. Man that year was fun and made memories. Sports!

Game over guys. Better not show up.

On the bright side, we can go ahead and declare X the national champions so maybe they can stop referencing the NIT title from 1958.

One of these days, somebody is going to start on the "the NIT was actually superior in the 50's" nonsense and I'm not going to be able to stop myself from running my mouth.

Also, I don't know if it was the "best" of the three, but the Wichita State game was one of the most enjoyable NCAA Tournament games (involving UK) that I've watched... A) because of the quality of the game and B) because that was as close to a "nothing to lose" situation as I can remember for UK.
