Sure but the Reds were 32-12 at one point in 1990. And then played .500 ball the remaining 75% of the year as they ended 20 games over .500. But they still won their division and it didn't hurt them in October. Turning MLB into the NCAA Tourney is not a win. It's a blatant money grab and hurts the overall quality of the game.The best MLB teams have not consistently won the championship in a long, long time.
Being on a roll in October is half the battle.
Truth of the matter is, it came WAAAAAY too easy during the regular season for some of these teams. A friend texted me during the game and said ATL isn't feasting off pitchers like Luke F. Weaver anymore. They relied so heavily on the long ball all year.
I am a bit jealous though that Castellanos turns into an all-out assassin against the Braves 3 years too late.
