That's a huge false. Why do I have to fake sentiment for someone I never respected, liked, and was an overall bad person? He had decades to apologize and never even hinted at it. Died sad and lonely. I see the tragedy in the situation, but doesn't mean I'm cutting him a break, as he obviously didn't want it.

I have plenty of relatives that I didn't respect or think about the the good things when they passed. In fact the world is a better place without them.

I wouldn’t expect you to understand.

Bob Knight never said anything nice about someone after they passed or maybe expressed some regret about the way he handled something. No single word of kindness or sympathy for Neil Reed when he died so young. When Myles Brand died, I think Bob said something to the effect he was happy Brand was dead. Great coach, horrible human being. Too many examples to count of being a horrible person, but he won a lot of games.

I do understand because I've had experience with the situation. Obviously, you haven't, which is a blessing.

I’m just messing with you. You’re speaking about personal experience, though - which is understandable. I’m speaking about a rival basketball coach I don’t believe any of us have ever met.

Man, go out for supper, come home, get settled in, hop on GYERO and find out there’s a no hitter going on in the WS, Bob Knight died and Kenny Payne fights players.

That’s a hell of a 3 hours.

And immediately as I sat down the no hitter is toast.

Oh and I agree with pti, I pretty much agreed with every Bob Night take. Strange life indeed.

That 93 regular season game was one of the best. Prime time cbs Sunday college bball. Jamal mashburn and Travis Ford. Calbert Cheney and Damon Bailey. Game played in the 90s at very high level. College basketball peaked during that era

One of the best games I’ve seen in person. Flipping Knight the bird as he walked off the court a loser was a real highlight for a freshman AW.

Depressing to think about what has happened to college basketball since that time.

Like two heavyweights throwing haymakers until the final horn. Unbelievable game I was lucky to witness, lower center, courtesy of a big IU booster. Dressed all blue and white in sea of red while being intoxicated made it even better.

Knight didn't burn out nor fade away. It would have been better if one or the other occurred.
At the end, he was a caricature of that worn down college coach trying to hold on and taking any job to redeem himself. While he may have won at TT, he did not redeem himself.

Breeders Cup. First one I'll not be attending in 10 years or so. Gambol on the couch, I guess.

Soup season with biscuits on the side.

Out of 55 metropolises, Louisville ranks 54 in downtown foot traffic recovery over the past four years (comparing now to 2019) according to a recent study. Only St. Louis is worse.

I heard that both Only Fans and Tinder were opening up offices in the trendy Louisville suburb Norton's Commons.

Was at a conference two weeks ago at the Omni. Swank hotel by Louisville standards, in a once vibrant area of downtown. Would mosey around Main and the distillery district on breaks, grab lunch, pop into Old Forester / Evan Williams and the place was a ghost town. Still boarded up windows in prime real estate locations near the Galt House / Yum.

Add in Humana and other companies located there switching primarily to WFH and it's going to be a while before the River City downtown bounces back, if ever.

Not blaming it on WFH, saying it adds to the scarcity of folks downtown these days. The fact those two weeks of riots happened and multiple cops and civilians shot is I'm sure a big catalyst (along with commercial real estate savings) why companies went that route.

We have back to back mayors that are so scared of not getting the black vote , that they literally allowed them free reign to tear anything and everything up. At some point somebody has to realize they aren't doing the black community any favors.
To be fair to Greenberg a member of Black Lives Matters literally tried to assassinate him. Thankfully he was a terrible shot. Fischer was just an idiot.
