I *thought* I really liked his game earlier this year...but maybe not. Obviously he needs to be able to shoot it better, but I loved the way he slashed/finished, seemed real slithery in there.

Last game or the one before he got a shot to play early for the first time in awhile & he immediately got an open jumper...and wasn't close. Was immediately yanked, about 15 seconds of playing time. They panned to the bench and he pretty much rolled his eyes while Cal was screaming at him. [laughing] (don't blame him)

People just disappear on Cal's teams. It's weird. Matthews went from "that guy should start at the 3, bring Brickcoe off the bench, blah" to "YOU'RE SITTING TOO CLOSE TO CAL GET DOWN THERE NEXT TO JONNY DAVID." And I'm not sure how or when it happened.

Matthews has lost *all* confidence in his game, and it's sad to see. He has the ability to do a lot of good things out there but Cal hasn't give him much of leash to fail fast.

Short of losing to UL ( which is such a rarity now & practically never happens ) nothing chaps my *** more than losing on the road to dogshit SEC team.

Opposing player banks off balance 3 to put SEC team up 1 in the 2nd half. Crowd is going bananas and the camera cuts to some feather bangs ******* in the student section is going bizerk with his Pom Pom at the only basketball game he will attend all year.

I certainly think this squad has the most feast or famine players I can remember:

Murray - 25, 6 and 6 or 15 (12 with the game already decided) and 6 pastries.
Lee - 13, 9, and 4 or 0 and 2 with 5 fouls.
Poythress - 20 and 10 or 6 and 3 with 5 fouls and a bunch of "I would rather be studying right now" looks.
Willis - 14 and 5 or 2 and 2 with Cal making fun of him in the post game presser.
Skal - well, we know what we are getting from him.

We have one guy that you consistently know is going to show on a game to game basis, with some sort of productivity even when his shot isn't going down. I think that's why Tyler gets a pass from most not named 73...he always brings something positive to contribute.

Cal says it over and over," just go out and play, have fun, you are not having fun." "This is suppose to be fun." Certain players screw up one time, benched and dog cussed. HTF are you suppose to have fun if you can't play thru mistakes, and take a dog cussing after said mistake ?

I hope he sticks around, he just can't be played with Briscoe. He's a guy that should watch Deandre Liggins film and become that guy...minus the whole bashing in your hen's face with an Xbox thing.

But if he does leave, it has to be to the Cuse' right? That dude was born to wear high socks and be one of those endless 6'7" swing men that run around in Boeheim's zone...there is usually about 8 of them on the team, one punkass white boy sniper and a 6'11" freak athlete in the middle.

Honestly, and I know a lot of us feel the same way, ALL of these SEC games just bother me. Don't really feel great is we win, pissed off/annoyed if we lose. Watching all those feather bangs ******** (r) storm a basketball court that they needed signs to get to even if they're team is ranked higher. SEC Basketball- I Got Nothing For It (tm)

Brad Nessler: "And with that last 3, the Hogs/Tigers/Rebels exceed the total number of triples made in their previous 5 conference games combined. The Cats are in for a battle tonight. Hold on, partner!"

Something I really enjoy about SEC road games is seeing the older hens sitting courtside, nary a clue about what is happening, seeing & being seen clad in their designer boots, scarves, bouffant hairstyle, and gold jewelry. Usually smacking away on some chewing gum.

Just always makes me chuckle for some reason.

I don't really feel strongly about anyone on this real other than white boi Willis. He is everything to me. His whole style is undeniable, and Cal is finally learning this.

Matthews gives you nothing on offense, so his defensive lapses surrendering layups is not worthy of playing through his mistakes.

Yep. You can guarantee that a LOT of Junior League meetings have to be rescheduled bc they interfere with a particular schools basketball game vs. The Cats.

What happened to Charles Matthews, John?

Witness Protection.

-Doc, 4-6 was spot on, and they didn't cast it. Can get back to work next week.

-Couple cans of the Skyline, maybe some Wolf Brand in there, little cayenne for heat, some extry pre-emptive everybody get pumped...waf.

Anyone still read HOB or nah? BigBlueSean better be glad they don't charge by the keystroke.

Unless it's some football recruiting scoop or team implosion gossip from JROW (don't get me started on his basketball 'takes'), I steer clear. It's pretty awful.

Sean is as bad as it gets. A true gaffot.

- Real Camp Cal happens the first or second week of March. Smart Fan knows this. KSR Fan thinks it's December. LOL

- Cal's hands are tied with Matthews. Can't play him with Briscoe. Can't play him when Poythress/Lee are in. Decent chance he starts next year if he works on his game.

- Once you've plowed the SEC 50x, it just loses its luster. Plus the conference disappoints EVERY YEAR. So, that leads to ho-hum dubs and on the nights we lose, we have to hear a raucous no-nothing crowd overly-boo basic calls and watch ****** players hit circus 3s. Of course, we get them back during football season when we wildly cheer every FIIIIIIRST DOOOOOOWN KEEEN TUUUUUCKY. So, F'm.

- No clue what the Junior League is.

I have to imagine that Cal's deal with Willis is just that he is in his own touching world.

And I'm not talking about WCS chasing butterflies and not showing up mentally to play every 1/3rd game type world...I'm talking about a running and packed bus leaving for a road game and some poor team manager having to track Willis from the lodge, to his girl's apartment, to his buddy's place, to Qdoba, to a tattoo shop where Derek isn't even getting a tat, just looking. All the while Cal sits fuming in the front of the bus thinking "I've got to play this guy tomorrow!" Manager breaks out of the lodge with all Derek's **** on his back, running like he wants a Duke scholly and Derek waltzes behind him, then turns around to go back in and get his headphones.

You be you, Derek, just keep stretching the floor and hitting the boards.

Nobody really knows that Matthews can give, b/c he gets yanked after he messes up or brick/airballs his first attempts after a 3 game DNP. Same with Mulder, who finally got a little shot and did ok.

-He's been injured half the year, but Hawkins got his first real chance vs UofL & won the damn game for us.

-IZAK was a big key in the Duke game with his "serviceable" minutes, and we haven't seen him since other than a few 30 second runs...and he's developed NADA as a result.

Same with Willis, who finally got a shot at REAL minutes and produced a double/double w/ 2 3s. And the other half he did (UCLA) was our best player.

It's one thing if we have a good team with a bunch of guys playing well, but that's not the case. We have the same 6 guys seeing 25+ minutes per night, and at least 50% of them play like dogshit every single night.

<------- team give other guys a chance. I mean, YOU recruited them right, Coach? Play them a little (and by a little, I don't mean 15-23 seconds while stalking their every move)

I don't think any of these guys will be the "difference" in our team necessarily, but they could contribute and potentially make us better in the long run. By all means, stick with this core 6 though, they're BALLING.

FAR CAL, is what i"m trying to say.

You know, kudos to Barnhart for not throwing a huge buyout clause in Cal's contract btw. No reason for UK to contractually participate in Cal's golden parachute when he bounces for the cash.

This is no comment on him personally or even the bulk of his work as AD here, but the guy is clearly touching terrible at negotiating contracts and memos of understandings. Like, negligence bad.

[laughing] This may be it, dude is out there -- I've mentioned before that he's not even really seemingly part of the team, based on social media. He's a weirdo, for sure.

Thanks for the info.

No problem, just trying to get out in front, knowing you'll inevitably be emailing later with hundreds of questions if you think about making the trip.

What's business class like?
What will my seat look like?
How many countries should we visit?
Where should we stay?
When should I book my train tickets?
Have I waited too late???

Your volume of questions impresses even Chase.
