I get that, and honestly I know it, but feel like we could speed Houston up which would make them as uncomfortable as us being slowed down.

A battle of wills if you will.

Binge watched the series about a year ago. Last 4 episodes are pretty damn good.

Enjoyed fact checking online based on each episode and still can’t believe how spot on it was.

Btw - Ruddys secretary was in Ted Lasso if you haven’t seen that.

That’s all you got? “Pudge” and “we’re on the same team here?” Seriously?

That’s the hope but Cal teams here (especially in the tourney) haven’t been the greatest at dictating tempo.

Now its time to get Wagner back up to serviceable. 9-46 since south Carolina, 0-15 from 3. Still 40% fg for the year so not completely fair with the injury but when hes bad he eats possessions we will obviously need based upon history of us being extremely tight in March.

If we can keep momentum of Edwards, get Wagner right the ***** bus will be late for a wedding.

Just a day of days!

Hit the grocery, got the kids to complete their chores, did the dishes, on load 5 of laundry, fed everyone lunch, walked 2 miles then took the wife 2 laps around the cul de sac which may have been too much too fast, now got the windows open, listening to the kids all play while smoking some pork tenderloin and the wife naps.

Not to say I want the Mr Mom role, but it isn’t so damn hard especially after the Cats are kicking some ***!

<------ this guys biggest fear right now is that we are thisclose to having down rotations of who we want playing together and Mitchell comes back and throws it off. Love him and he played great 1st half of season but he was on the struggle bus big time even before the injury.

Yeah there’s gonna be some rust from him and it could shake up the chemistry again.

This team is a Rorschach Test. We can blow anyone out and get our asses kicked by almost anyone with a pulse -- just like 99% of teams this year.

That was one of those random wins that you'll remember years from now -- like when we boatraced Tennessee after Joe B. passed or Arkansas last year when Jacob Toppin turned into baby Magic. So many good moments.

My favorites:
  • Big Z smiling about everything like he's Stretch Kevin McCallister
  • Antonio Reeves drawing 8 fouls -- is he the SEC Player of the Year?
  • Reed now only has to get 14 steals to break Rondo's record; doable in the 6+ games left
  • Justin Edwards purposefully missing a free throw just to let everyone know he is actually mortal

-Good for Edwards. Wild how lack of confidence can make a good athlete look like a bumbling fool. We're talking about a kid, last month, that took off from mid-court on a fast break and just didn't dribble. Like he forgot how the game is played. He was blocked by the rim about 500 times. If he can keep it up, will it be the first time a 5* struggled and actually turned it around? I guess Andrew Harrison, maybe? Track record for that freshman turn a round isn't great.

-I have no idea what to expect from this crew. The ceiling is ridiculous but the floor is probably equally ridiculous. Need to find a consistent group and role with them. IMO you just try to run teams out of the building.

-Finding a way to get Z on the court is gonna be FW's most important mission. 5 shooters and 3-4 distributors is a nightmare. For all Ugo gives you, he's a 0 on the offensive side.

-Big Time LL baseball moves on. Tigers this season. Man, they have sweet gear. No coaching responsibilities this season. #Blessed

-Duke a bunch of whinny bitches. Take your L and get of the court without playing the victim.

-American Nightmare is a wild story.

-Anthony Kim plays golf this weekend.

Is Kim being paid or is it a tryout with no money involved? Can't see how that works without giving up his insurance money.

Hopes are up again for the Cats.

Golf weather.

We had to attend a fundraiser Saturday night shortly after the game, mostly surrounded by Alabama alum/fans. I got a fairly stern talking to from my wife to not be a complete d*ck to everyone else there about the game. "You've got to stop calling other fans that you dont even know, hayseed ********?" k.

I chose the passive aggressive playbook most of the night.

"Man- just happy we clipped Oats in his last trip to Rupp. That buyout dropping to $10M this spring has to be scary for the fans- but they should get someone decent in when he leaves"

"Could really see him at Memphis if they fire Hardaway. Cal followed the same path- mid-tier program with average fan support, over to Memphis before a blue-blood calls- I could see Oats going that route"

"I actually think you all could make a deeper run this year- not being so reliant on one player- that one kid there for the murder- this years team has some more options out there."

These college kids leaving early to maybe be a second round choice blow my mind. Chris Livingston is the absolute anomaly, but that's due to Klutch.

1) I don't think college players realize how many great basketball players there are compared to how many spots there are. There are basically 270 starter / rotation player spots available in the NBA. If prime age NBA talent lasts about 11 years, that means you have ~25 new spots to be a starter / rotation player each year.

2) With international basketball picking up, there is a ton of new talent, but no new teams.

3) Most 2nd round players have 2-way contracts which average about $450K per year. And as mentioned in that article they are gone quickly.

4) Chris Livingston - last pick of the 2024 draft (Klutch Hookup):
  • He probably could have made 100K+ this year at UK (I assume)
  • The contract he signed for the Bucks is this:
    • 2024 - $1.19M
    • 2025 - $1.89M
    • 2026 - $2.22 (team option)
    • 2027 - $2.40M (team option)
  • Livingston has played in 15 games and averages a minute per game.
  • He also has 9 G-league appearances
5) Kobe Brown - last pick of 2024 first round:
  • 2024 - $2.4M
  • 2025 - $2.5M
  • 2026 - $2.6 (team option)
  • 2027 - $4.7M (team option)
  • Very similar playing stats to Livingston
Basically, Livingston is giving all these marginal NBA guys hope that they can get in the second round and get paid, when really it's only the top 25 guys each year who are making out with big contracts.
