They're all great and 2012 was magical, but you've got to close the deal with some of these teams/opportunities he's had, man. I'm not sure if I can handle another "ALMOST, BUT SO MUCH FUN!!" with a loaded roster like next year's is shaping up to be.
- Caught the last 20 or so minutes of the OJ Simpson miniseries on FX the other night. Looks like a good combo of trashy and interesting to me. Sorta show where Ross from Friends is telling OJ Simpson not to blow his brains out in Kim Kardashian's childhood bedroom. Sidenote: Kim's bedroom was festooned with NSync and Backstreet Boys posters? Calling BS. Was looking for Bone Thugs posters.

^ Not NSYNC & BSB. They didn't come along til later. It was JTT* and some others. One thing the show screwed up is the phone call from the detective to O.J. On the show, they made a big deal about the fact that "he didn't ask how she died." In real life, his first response was "do they know who did it?"

My dad goes to the Player's and parlays that into a few rounds of golf down in Florida. He loves it. I actually worked for The Memorial Tournament for a few years back in college. Myself and about a dozen fraternity brothers took 2 weeks and worked basically as gopher/***** workers doing whatever we were told. 18 hour days the whole time, but usually made enough cash to enjoy the rest of the summer, grilling steaks and drinking premium brews at The Commons.
Got a guy coming today to convert our fireplace to a woodburning unit rather than gas/fake logs.
Admittedly, I am reconsidering. I mean, it's pretty easy and clean as is. Still, I've always wanted to burn wood in my living room. Probably just do it, I guess.

-Hopefully brooksie navigates this big decision better than his struggling through the past 7 years of Kentucky Basketball misfortunes. FWIW, as much as I love real fires, way too much of a hassle and clean up.

Going from something clean that fires up with the push of a button to something filthy that takes twice the work seems like a good call, imo. In these situations I always ask myself - what would a caveman do?
No offense, SAE, but you seem to be using the same line of thinking as "OH NO, I DON'T WANT ANY PAIN MEDS WHEN I BIRTH MY CHILD I WANT TO EXPERIENCE IT ALL, GOOD AND BAD, JUST LIKE MY LILLITH FORESISTERS DID"
I think SAE just wants to be able to smoke heaters in his house without the wife knowing. Or maybe when he gets pissed off enough at her, just easily go over and light one up and walk out of the room.
Except 99% of them cave within 5 minutes of contractions.
This is reduced to 3 minutes if they have a birth plan and a safe word.

Oh I pay attention but it is basketball season and as per normal UK is no where near the top in football recruiting. You guys can get upset all you want at the basketball fans but understand something. UK will "never" compete for the SEC in football with only top 30 recruiting classes.

Wife had second kid without epidural, but not by choice. Kid came so fast they didn't have time. I will say recovery was much better without epidural. First one left her with a dead leg and hypotension issues for a day or two.
Well that didn't go as planned. Apaprently I am an literal idiot because the fireplace isn't even in condition to be used as I have been for 3+ years, and I'm lucky to not have killed my family with carbon monoxide poisoning (will be Dad's little secret).

On the plus side, everyone sleeps REALLY well at the SAE home.
Michigan football is getting ready to go on a UK basketball-like resurgence. Harbaugh is a star. Their signing day featured Brady, Jeter, Lou Holtz, and Rick effing Flair. I'm a 5 star whatever, and I want to go play there.
... and OSU had an equal or better class. Michigan is gonna improve but they're not gonna lap that conference.

--- I expect to see a lot more Skal over the next few games as Calipari has basically resigned himself to the notion that in order for UK to be good enough to win it all, he has to play. Because Marcus is so limited offensively and Alex is inconsistent (both things that aren't changing this year), Skal reaching anywhere close to his potential is really the only other thing UK can do to get consistently better on the interior. These next two games at home are huge for him as I think he will play a lot and we just have to cross our fingers.
--- The folks around the program saw this UT thing coming...maybe not the way they lost (blowing a 21 point lead), but everyone I talked to on Monday was worried about the game. Teams like UT/Auburn/Ohio State actually worry these coaches more than the top teams because of how they are built/the way UK players look at them. With the exception of Tyler, this is not a self-motivating group so without the flash of a big game/home arena, these guys don't necessarily bring it consistently. Then, the teams without a big interior presence and guards that are shoot first, worry UK because where the Cats have the advantage (inside), they can't exploit it because of inconsistency.
--- The football vibe was something else yesterday. The whole Lamar Thomas thing may not matter in the grand scheme of things, but it certainly put a spring in the coaching staff' step. They love getting a guy they wanted and especially taking him from Louisville, who this staff has grown to hate like Brooks and his group did. Bobby P begged Thomas to wait until after Signing Day to leave (and don't believe what anyone writes, they wanted him to stay), but Lamar had it and took off on Sunday night. They think he can make a difference in getting UK in Miami...one coach told me "if he can just get 1-2 kids of high quality down there a year, it will make all the difference in the world.
--- I am expecting a pushback from UK on the whole budget thing with Bevin...the combination of the 9% cuts along with him not letting UK build the baseball stadium, has a lot of folks up in arms. Will be interesting to watch...especially since it is presumed (I am not sure if this is true or not but it is the presumption) that he is close with Ramsey at Louisville.
--- Marques Bolden is still likely a Cat. I think he came close to committing this fall but it got pushed back (another big man wanted to commit to UK (Allen) but UK held it off because of Bolden). I hope he stays true and doesn't waver because the class is insane if he does.
That is all. SAE has turned (at least on here) into the most bizarre mix of negativity/"onset of middle age angry sarcasm" that I have ever seen. It is really amusing from afar.

A lot of that can likely be attributed to him breathing in toxic fumes for an extended period of time.
Why is Wynyard getting zero clock? Is he that ill prepared to play? Redshirting him? If the latter, why not announce it?
